  Tonerite thoughts
Posted by: Twimmer - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (3)

Just got my first Eastman (E1D deluxe) and it sounds super tight. I’d like to get it opened up sooner than later because I love everything else about it. I got it about a week ago and play for about an hour a night. I know it will take months/years to get it to really open up. Has anyone used a tonerite to get theirs to open up sooner. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions

  E 20 D serial number (6885)
Posted by: sonofahbuck - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (1)

Hi , I have an Eastman E 20 D. Yes , I have contacted Eastman with the serial number trying to determine it's age . It's a hand written number . They said they have no idea and ask me to send them photos of the serial number and a few pictures of the guitar which I did . They said there at a loss as to the year . The number is , just four digits (6885) I'm wondering if someone here has a E 20 D with a close number that they purchased new and what year it was purchased or , any other info . Thanks .

Posted by: Twimmer - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - No Replies

Solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides. Grover open gear tuners, k and k pick up. Willing to let it go for $1,000, listed on reverb for $1,100. Great tone and volume. Only reason I’m selling is I need the cash. Bought a Eastman E1D to replace it

  Just ordered a E1D Deluxe
Posted by: Twimmer - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (4)

Just ordered my first Eastman guitar, I’ve been a fan for a while but never pulled the trigger until now. Found one with some good looking bear claw on the top and the previous owner swapped out the original pick up for a k and k. It arrives on Wednesday and I’m pretty excited. The acoustic shoppe favs about the fit and finish and tone. What should I expect, I know they really hype the Eastmans over Yamaha and Blueridge etc. currently own a Furch D 30 SM I have for sale to make the purchase, if anyone is interest in it let me know. I’ll post pics of the Eastman when it arrives

  E1P v/s E1P Bluesmaster
Posted by: bill@billchambers.com - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

Hi all! I'm deciding between a used Ep1 Bluesmaster with the Adirondack top v/s a new regular Ep1 with the Thermo Cured Sitka top. What's the difference in the top woods? Does the Thermo Curing make the Sitka top competitive with the Adirondack top? I know this is all subjective, just looking for advice.
Thanks!

  Strawberry Fields Forever: genesis

Strawberry Fields and vid:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiv7BdjPmLA
I came across the vid below on the making of the Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever. It was the first song recorded during the Sgt Pepper's session and released as a single (along with Penny Lane) but not included on the album - a decision later regretted by producer George Martin who had pushed for its exclusion. I find it interesting how the Beatles and production team grappled with the limited four track technology of the day to realize Lennon's vision.

Health Warning: Geeks Only - the cut finally released isn't pitched within standard keys, rather it is microtonal*: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgtzOafdoOQ  kind of sorry to inflict this on you lol
* in this context a cent is 1/100th of a semitone/half step
