  Used AR804 Advice
Posted by: AlanSam - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

I was looking at a used AR804 and wondering whether I should make a bid. It belonged to the father of the owner who knows nothing about guitars. Do you think the damage to the top of the guitar by the neck indicative of neck problems? I've asked whether the damage to the finish is reflected on the other side under the pickguard.

  Finish query
Posted by: SC2021 - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (7)

Hi guys, new to this forum. I’ve just purchased a Romeo la and have noticed an imperfection in the finish where the neck joins the body. It looks like it’s under the lacquer and appears as if the paint has run.
My query is should I contact the dealer I bought it from or should I contact Eastman directly?

  Warranty claim (not mine)
Posted by: Jklotz - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Just read on another forum a guy bought a PCH series guitar a few years back. It developed a crack around the scarf joint on the neck. Long story short, dealer forwarded pics to Eastman, who immediately issued a replacement guitar. No fuss, no muss. It's nice to hear they stand behind their products. I haven't had a warranty claim with the 3 I own, but if I ever need it, it's comforting to hear they take care of you.

Yet another reason to own an Eastman, right?

Which to buy- E6om tc or e10om
Posted by: Marshall987 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (7)

Hi

Finally purchasing my first Eastman and can’t decide which one to go for I have narrowed it down to 2 both of which will be online order as no way of trying locally. Long time electric player and new to acoustics. I already own one which is Yamaha ls ta transacoustic, sound I’m interested in is blues and finger style and Martin etc seem to appeal the most tone wise.

Eastman choices are as follows.

E6om tc with alpine spruce top.

Or

E10 om (non tc)

Both guitars are new and both are 1000 euro each.

Need help in choosing between the higher model of the E10om or the lower e60 but with tc alpine spruce top both costing the same doesn’t help the situation ?
Thank you

  Torrefied top over time?
Posted by: laalgaag - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (11)

Hello, I'm curious if anyone has info about how guitars with torrefied tops will sound over time? We know that naturally aged guitars sound great, but what about ones that have gone through torrefication? In 20 years, will a non-TC sound better than a TC?

Greetings all,

After deciding that I only need one acoustic, and not getting any traction on my poor old AC708CE, I've reluctantly decided to list this.

Purchased new by me back in December of 2020, it's seen very little use.  Plastic is still on the pick guard, only addition is a Waverly Snakewood strap button to the proper spot on the neck heel.

Action is very low with extremely fast playability, zero relief neck. I tune to Eb with Mediums and play with a light pick and a light touch. If you dig in with a heavier pick you'll get some buzz - think James Taylor's "clean side of buzzy."

Tone is deep, shimmery, and broken in.  I love this beast, but I can't justify two guitars.

Comes with all the case candy (wrench, key, etc.) and I filed the certificate of authenticity when I received it, so I'll have to grab it.

SOLD. I'm in no hurry to sell, and I think this is a pretty special guitar, both in tone and the unique figuring of the top.

** Would only consider trades for an AC722/822 with an Engelmann top **

Posted over on AGF - slight discount for my fellow Eastmen. Cool

Thanks for looking!

  Waiting for guitar
Posted by: JReeder - Forum: Eastman Guitar Resources - Replies (12)

Can anyone tell me how long I should wait for an Eastman guitar I ordered from a music store?
On April 9th 2019 I ordered a left hand T184MX in the natural wood color. The owner of the music store told me it would take up to a minimum of 12 months and maybe 18 before I would receive it and I would have to pay the full price upfront.

First there was a wood shortage then COVID. Six months ago we the ask the owner about it was in production. Last week we asked and the owner of the store is not sure but he speculates it might be a shipping container problem.

Any advice I on how to check on the progress ourselves? The store owner has said he would give a refund but if the guitar were to arrive, we would get first choice. The price of the guitar would be at 2021 prices not 2019 price we paid.

For the past couple days, I’ve been tempted by a E6OM-TC listed New on Reverb for a great price. Today, I noticed it sold. I’m saddened, and relieved.

I’ll just keep playing my E8OM-TC.

  Headstock Eastman Traditional Series
Posted by: Mitch - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Hi there

Something I noticed while looking at Eastman Acoustics from the E-Series are the different Headstock veneer used.

There are two version, the Rosewood and the Ebony veneer.

I noticed that i.e. the E10OM has some of both. It seems that newer models have mostly the ebony veneer. The older models have the non-pearl inlays on the Eastman logo on the Headstock (which I like).

My E8OM has the Rosewood headstock with pearl inlay and is a December 2019 model. Seems that the E8 has the Rosewood veneer only, maybe matching the back & sides. Not so the E20 though… Huh

Is there a rule to these different ‚Headstocks‘? Like non-pearl inlay = pre 20.. or with pearl inlay from 20..

I just wonder. Not that it matters tbh, just an observation….the serial numbers aren‘t giving much away apart from the new ones starting with the ‚M’………so I thought maybe the Headstock can give a clue Cool

Cheers
Mitch
