Eastman E1OO Ltd acoustic-electric guitar. Limited Edition OO size.

Adirondack spruce top and solid sapelle back and sides. Ebony fretboard, bridge, and bridge pins. Very nice condition with no visible flaws other than normal light playwear (swirls on pickguard mainly). I'm trying to link photos from Imgur, but apparently I'm doing something wrong. The guitar was originally equipped with a Fishman Sonicore active pickup. I wasn't overly impressed so I had the pickup replaced with a high-dollar K&K Ultra Pure active pickup system with the phenomenal sound hole preamp. Brand new bone compensated saddle professionally made and installed along with the K&K pickup system. It comes with a high-end Eastman heavily padded gig bag. I'll include the original Certificate of Authenticity for this limited edition guitar, a new set of Santa Cruz strings, and the original Fishman Sonicore pickup system.

I am the original owner. The only reason I'm parting with this guitar is that I'm trying to work toward buying a Martin CEO-7. This guitar is definitely priced to sell.

Looking to replace my son's backup guitar - a languishing AR371 - we posted it for sale on craigslist. Got a hit from a guy with an Eastman T-486 who was hoping to trade for a hollowbody. To shorten the long story, it was a match. The guy ended up with the AR371, some cash and a set of strings. My kid, the T-486.

I don't know much about electric guitars, and my son is learning - from experience - which of them work for him. So we thought the worst that could happen with the swap was he'd get a semi-hollow to try out. If he didn't love it, then we could try to move it on later. Well, it quickly became obvious that there was no worst case scenario involved, and the T-486 is now his number 1 guitar. Not even going to try to get specific about it as, again, I know nothing. But the kid has been playing it nearly non-stop.

BTW, I love it when craigslist transactions work out the way this one did! No muss, no fuss, each party got what he wanted.

I'm new to the brand, and my only experience is what I've read on forums and seen on Youtube, but I look forward to actually playing one in the near future. As there are very few videos of the Cedar-topped dreadnought of Eastman I decided to record a small demo of my E2D.

I bought it about one year ago, here in Spain. I live in Madrid and there are very few places to find Eastmans, but I got lucky and found this one with a good discount when lockdown finished and brought this one home for being my workhorse.

In the description of the video there are some details about strings, microphone used etc.

Hope you enjoy and hope it helps to people trying to decide to buy this fantastic guitar and have not the possibility to try it.

This was just posted on TGP in response to a post I started about using 12's on a D18. They use 10's thru 13's and compare the differences in sound/tone.

Can someone tell me what the differences are from the older AC722s and the newer. The only difference I’m aware of is the sound port, is there anything else? Also what would one expect to pay for one that’s 3 or 4 years old in excellent condition? Thank you.

Watching TomC's recent post containing the Martin history vid set me thinking. Did C F Martin really invent X bracing? In fact this is by no means certain, with all sorts of experimental builds existing from the early 1800s. To quote one article I read ' [a]  guitar, made by the Roudhloff brothers, Dominique and Arnould, with some input from a Mr. Barelli, used X-bracing, a form of bracing that turned up shortly afterwards in the guitars of C.F. Martin. While the assumption is that X-bracing was used to support the increased tension of steel strings, X-bracing actually goes back to English guittars (citterns), which, although strung with steel strings, had strings that were of low tension.
   Martin's first X-braced guitars were strung with gut, not steel, adding further to the confusion about the reason for the use of X-bracing.'  And the use of dovetail joints to attach guitar necks was certainly not a Martin innovation. But does all this detract from the significance of C F Martin in the development and popularising of the modern steel string guitar? IMO absolutely not.
   One final observation, concerning Taylor's 'revolutionary' V bracing - since when does advertising copy qualify as historical fact?

After a month of being socked in from California fire smoke, first the Dixie Fire, then the Tamarack Fire which was only 20-25 south of me, burned right next to the town of Markleeville, Ca. and now the Caldor Fire between highways US 50 and state highway 88 around seventy miles or so west-southwest of us. Day in and out we're downwind from all the fires.

Anyways my wife, my 7 year old Aussie and I decided to get away from the smoke without driving over an hour, hour and a half drove down south on US 395 to Virginia Lakes Ca. (between Town of Bridgeport Ca. and Mono Lake) which is just shy of 10,000 feet elevation to finally get to clear blue skies! Spent the day hiking around the lakes. It was wonderful to finally breathe some clean air! The winds were in our favor. Hated the drive back to the Carson City area as our visibility is about a half mile and our air quality index of Pm2.5 is over 450, which is extremely unhealthy. When we go outside we're wearing a mask and it's not just for Covid 19. 

Can't wait for cooler and hopefully wetter weather this coming fall. (Hope I posted this in the right section)

Even though we have to put with with just smoke my heart goes out to those that had to evacuate or even worse lost their homes.
