Romeo NYC rattling sound diagnosis
Posted by: Songful - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (4)

Hello,
I bought a beautiful used Romeo NYC from the Guitar Center website last week and received it yesterday. (I thought I would take a risk on used GC—which can be hit or miss, for sure). It plays beautifully and generally sounds great, but I hear a strange rattling sound. It does not seem to affect the sound when it’s amplified, but it’s pretty loud when played acoustically. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of sound. It doesn’t sound like fret buzz to me. It sounds more like something is rattling inside the neck pickup. I don’t have any experience with these filtertron pickups. Is that an experience anyone else has had? I uploaded a couple videos that capture the sound, here:

Thanks

For Sale: 2012 Left Handed T186MX (Or trade for T64 with 1.72 Nut)

$1500+buyer pays for shipping from Portland, OR
Selling this fantastic Eastman guitar which has been discontinued for lefties. It has plenty of honest wear and playing time, but still has plenty of life left due to a recent refret! Light checking along binding, some small dings, small marks on fretboard binding from refret. I can send additional photos.
These guitars are truly one of a kind, featuring a fully carved body with small center block, 1.75 nut width & 25 inch scale! This guitar has a Fralin Unbucker in the neck, which is one of the best humbuckers I’ve ever played. The neck tone knob is wired as a gradual tap, and the bridge tone knob acts as a master tone for both pickups. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan 59! You can get so many great sounds from this guitar, it’s truly a Swiss Army knife instrument…I’m letting this instrument go because I would like to get a fully hollow instrument with a thinner nut width. Open to trades for a lefty T64 with the 1.72 nut!

Eastman Otto D'Ambrosio Signature Model El Rey 2 ER2 Won't stay in tune
Posted by: moldy - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

Hi - I'm new to the group, thanks for having me.
I have an Eastman Otto D'Ambrosio Signature Model El Rey 2 ER2 Archtop Hollowbody - I love the guitar, but it won't stay in tune to the point I can only use it for practice - and then I spend half the time tuning it. Could it be the tuning pegs? Strings? Has anyone ls had this problem? I just had a neck reset by a highly recommended luthier - but this has always been a problem only now it's worse.

Thanks in advance for your help

I saw this on marketplace for $60. I’m going to see it tomorrow. It comes with case. The seller said that it has very little play time on it.I thought it might be a good beater. I know that back and side is sapele laminate - assume top is solid Sitka. Wondering if anyone on here knows the history of this model.

New Guy Here: Any Tips on How to Track Down an AC108CE-LTD?
Posted by: BarryBluejeans - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - No Replies

Hi,

New to the group. I've been lurking around in the Eastman groups on FB for a while with no luck, so, thought I'd ask if anyone here might have some alternative suggestions of where I might try my luck looking for an AC108CE-LTD model?

I know they're hard to come by at this point with the limited production run. Just hoping for a miracle trying to find one of these it would seem and taking shots in the dark at this point - and dodging scammers right and left haha. I've had 4 try to separate me from my money already the last couple of weeks! It's rough out here, gotta keep your wits about you.

Thanks for any tips you may have!

  Removal of Eastman Fishman pickup
Posted by: Photohobo - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

The pickup in my PCH1-GACE is dead and I'd like to remove it.  I have a sound hole pickup I can use instead, but I have to remove the Eastman Fishman module because it is in the way.   How is it attached and how hard is it to remove?   Will an X-acto knife work?  It looks like it has some kind of black foam material between the electronics housing and the guitar just inside the sound hole.

  Question on E20SS
Posted by: Rich919 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (7)

Hello All,
I just bought a used E20SS and have a question on the bridge.  Here are a few pics of the bridge.  I know its supposed to be ebony but this seems pretty light and more rosewood.  It is also slotted which I wasn't expecting.  Can anyone with a E20SS confirm if this bridge looks correct or if it was possibly replaced?  I want to be sure of what I'm buying.
Thanks in advance

Famous Jazz Player Spotted with Eastman
Posted by: Grandpa Bucky - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

We just returned from a Diana Krall concert. Her guitarist, Anthony Wilson, is an incredible musician. He had two very expensive custom John Monteleone guitars in his lineup. Those guitars can go for $85,000.00 used.  We were seated in the center of the theater so I am thankful I remembered to bring my binoculars. Looking at his lineup I was happily surprised to spot an Eastman dreadnought. I figured Eastman Guitar fans would appreciate that bit of news. Here is Anthony Wilson with John Pisano, both playing Eastman electric guitars;   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMlQUq5I-QQ&t=75s

  Eastman Ukuleles
Posted by: TomC - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (2)

I am recently retired and can take courses at the U of Minn for a greatly reduced rate. I signed up for intro to ukuleles, but I need to find one. I would prefer a solid wood and I know Eastman makes one. Anyone have any experience with Eastman ukuleles? There are none to be tried in my area.
Thanks
