Which Capo?
Posted by: AlanSam - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (5)

I was wandering what capo you favour (a couple of recent posts hit on this). Personally I like Paige capos - similar to the first one I ever owned - with the screw tension adjuster. Maybe not quite as slick as the sprung type, but simple, solid and unlikely to put the tuning out. I wholly concur with this gentleman :-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=filEPJggZps

Help! I Need Two Replacement Nuts!!
Posted by: jphenderson91 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (13)

Sometimes I just don’t know when to quit. So when trying to achieve the lowest action possible l I went and slotted the low E string on both my Eastmans a bit too low and now I’m thinking I might need two new nuts. When I play open notes the low E is buzzing on the first fret. Both necks have plenty of relief And otherwise play fine.

As a temporary fix I put a little piece of paper under the E string and now the buzzing is mostly gone.

Anyway, how would you go about getting a replacement nut for an E20D-TC and an E10D-TC?

I know I could probably get some blanks online but is there any specific place that makes preslotted nuts to fit Eastman dreads?

Would a Martin bone but for a 1 3/4 neck work or is the string spacing different?

Would I be better going with a blank and letting my guitar tech do the work? Or could my tech use some filler to raise the E string?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  E6OM for E6D?
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (2)

Hi Everyone,

I currently have an Eastman E6OM that I purchased brand new in April.  Still has certificate of authenticity.  I have come to realize that I just prefer the sound of a dread to an OM.  Would anyone consider trading their E6D for my E6OM?  Photos of my guitar are attached.  It's a beautiful guitar!  It's been properly humidified with a Music Nomad humidifier, and has been a case queen when it's not being played.

This guitar is a wonderful fingerstyle guitar, but is more than adequate as a strummer and flat-picker when needed.

If interested, let me know.  I'd be happy to do a straight swap where I pay shipping and you pay shipping.

Cheers,
Jordan

WTB Eastman full size slope shoulder
Posted by: Shishigashira - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (25)

Figured I'd try a 'wanted' post.  I'm looking to buy a used E1SS (particularly the CLA model),  E10SS,  E10ss/v or the E20SS.  Not many of those up coming up for sale and I haven't gotten lucky with the ones I've tracked down.

If you have one you're thinking of selling,  send me a message.  Thanks!

Small gap - should I be worried?
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (29)

Hey everyone,

I'm probably totally over thinking this, but wanted to get some clarity. I was looking at my E8D tonight, and noticed that there is a noticeable gap on one side where the neck meets the body. It's not on the other side. I attached a picture and circled the area that I'm referring to, and another picture showing the side without the gap. The gap is big enough that I can fit the tip of the pick in it.

Should I be worried about this?

Thanks

Posted by: TonyMac67 - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (1)

Hello Everyone

New to this site, it’s looking very cool!

Anyone had any issues with the plain strings buzzing in the saddle of the bridge on a T486B and any solutions?

Thanks in advance

What are Eastman's three best acoustic guitars?
Posted by: Shishigashira - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (40)

I was going to ask about Eastmans best acoustic but thought better of it. So what are their three best acoustics?

Eastman's best? This one is pretty easy for me since the E8D seems to be the forum's favorite. Not sure what it is but everyone seems to love their Sitka/Rosewood combo in dread size. Some special sauce in that one.

If I had to add two more I'd say the E2D since I actually own it and love it. The cedar sapele combination seems perfect and the price point is ridiculous. E1D is a contender too.

And if I had to pick one more, it would be the E10SS/V. The slope shoulder is pretty fantastic but that varnish finish is quite unique and seems to take it over the top.

What do others think?
