First and foremost, I really enjoy this forum. Secondly, I have GAS badly, and I'm looking at the E6D-TC. I'm curious as to who has played the TC version and regular E6D. Could someone explain to me how the two differ in tone?

Is the TC warmer with more bass? Does it sound more like a D-18 than a E6D would?

Hello.  I have a used T64/V on the way, and I am wondering what strings people here are using on these lovely guitars, for a nice bluesy, rootsy sound.

I expect to stick with 11s.  This will be my first guitar with a Bigsby, although I have a Jazzmaster with a floating tremolo.  I'm using Gabriel Tenorio "trem twists" on that -- they are expensive, but they sound great, last long, and work very well with the tremolo arm.  I figure they would also work well with a Bigsby.

Hello fellow forumites.

New Eastman owner here. I've bought a lovely E2D via ebay and the action is almost perfect (but a bit low and a tiny bit buzzy due to my heavy right hand). There is practically zero relief on the neck so I thought tweaking the truss rod would sort the slight buzz.

SO I took the supplied allen key tool and using the narrowed 4mm end tried to engage the truss rod by guiding it through the hole in the bracing. It didn't engage with anything, no matter how much i wiggled and jiggled the blessed thing. I set up an internal mirror and with my head torch tool on, tried again. Same issue. Spent ages trying this. The tool definitely enters the end of the truss rod housing but only goes about 5mm or so, and as I say, just wiggles about.

Am I missing something here? Is there a special technique I need to use? I've adjusted the truss rods on several acoustics without issue.

Have I been given the wrong tool?

Any help you folks could give would be much appreciated. If I wasn't already bald I'd be tearing my hair out!

Does Eastman make the E8OM in a sunburst version? I see that they do for the E20 and E40 OM's, but not for the E8OM. Wonder why?

I have been looking for a dread for quite a while. Had J45's but they are a large instrument to handle. Sound was nice though. 

I then purchased a Martin D15...too much "hog".  It had to go. Then it was a decision of mahogany vs rosewood.

But this E20 Adi/ Rosewood....OMG.  I've only owned it 24 hrs now, but what an instrument. I don't know where to start.

The attention to detail in construction and finish is the best I've seen. Immaculate. 

The sound is exactly what I wanted...A Martinish D45 sound without all the bling. This guitar delivers. 

I will have a Baggs Anthem installed next week and can't wait to plug it in. I'm stoked.

I have a luthier/performer/friend who has played Eastmans for over a decade now and loves them. I found out yesterday that I waited too long to purchase my first. 

I'm already thinking about another. The new Romeo SC....I really got the bug bad.

Hi all, I just perchased an AR810CE-CS, made the deal over the phone after seeing some pictures, the nearest dealer that had a800 series was 300 miles away. So, it gets here and it looks great, fit and finish are outstanding. fret work maybe the best I've seen on a new guitar. Then I start playing it and, well, the acoustic tone is fine, I sort of knew what to expect ..but pluged in, This is where I started doubting. There is practicly no sudtain and the tone is lean and overly bright so I feel. I was expecting something along the lines of what you get from an L5 CES but nothing close...

Is this normal or did I get a dud ? My cheap Ibanez AF95 all laminated has ton more sustain and a much richer elctrified tone...

please advise.

After experimenting for awhile now with Bluegrass gauge strings, I've decided that I prefer regular light acoustic strings. As it happens, I have 11 sets of unopened Bluegrass acoustic strings from different string makers. All sets are Bluegrass gauge (.012-.056). If you'd like to experiment with Bluegrass acoustic strings on your guitar, for the first three people who respond to this saying they'd like them, I'll send them along. I'm going to divvy up the eleven sets this way: 

First two people to respond via private message:  1 set each of GHS Vintage Bronze, Martin 80/20 Bronze, D'Addario Phosphor Bronze, and DR Rare phosphor Bronze.
Third person to respond via private message: 3 sets of GHS Vintage Bronze strings.
You need to include your home mailing address, of course.

I'll put a reply here as soon as I have three takers... BTW, you can thank Pura Vida for the GHS strings; the others are mine.

Just got a pre owned T184MX and I can't find how track the guitar-
The guy I got it from wasn't sure when it was made. It shows almost
no use at all, and is mint condition.

Serial Number is 10355126

I think it might have been made in 2015, but not positive.
I think it has Seymour Duncan pups.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
