Hello. I'm new to this website and I'm glad I've found you folks!
This week I went to a guitar store I occasionally go to and to my surprise, was able to demo the SB59. Boy oh boy! The last several months I've been meticulously organizing and planning a new guitar purchase from another brand and now...I'm not. At this point, I'm an Eastman guy. Yep. That easy of a decision for me.
I wanted to demo the Thinlines as well but they didn't have any in stock so I have a few questions about them I was hoping some of you all could help me with.
1. Are the neck profiles of the Thinlines, notably the T59/v, the same as the SB59? I've read they may be slightly more low profile but still substantial. I really loved how the SB59 felt neck in my hands.
2. Is the Ebony fretboard also the same as on the SB59? The fretboard felt wonderful and was a joy to play. Wanted to make sure it was of the same feel and quality.
3. Not really neck profile related but, has anyone compared the laminate to solid wood versions? I've only had experience with laminate semis but I see the Eastman website discusses the solid-wood benefits at moderate volumes which I typically play at (don't really gig). But I am leaning towards the T59 at this point.
I hope to get both the semi-hollow & the hardbody at some point but need to still try the semi-hollow to determine which one to get first. Decisions, decisions. Btw, my main musical genres I play are Blues-rock, blues, Soul, Funk, Jam Band stuff. & at this point, strictly a home player.
Thx for any guidance and insight that you all can provide. Look forward to the feedback!
