I have no affiliation with the seller, but I came across this today.  It seems to be in excellent condition and would be a nice buy for anyone seeking a Rosewood/Adi OM.  http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forum...p?t=506099

  Taming PCH Mids-Pickup or Preamp?
Posted by: Unbridled - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (6)

I've found that all the PCH guitars have overpowering high-mids when amplified. Do you folks think it's the undersaddle pickup or the preamp?

My hunch is that it's the preamp because piezo pickups are pretty simple. The fundamental lows are there because I can get a good tone by cutting highs and mids instead of boosting lows.

Even with this common problem, I think the PCH guitars are the best value around.

Thoughts?

I'm not afraid of cutting to install a preamp on the upper bout, but what preamps do you guys like that have the controls in the soundhole? Alternatively, has anyone found an undersaddle element that really makes a difference and is warmer?

  The T486 Blonde Lives!
Posted by: snowfall62 - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (9)

Hi all -- first post here.
I've been wanting a T486B-BD for years now, and have been kicking myself once in a while for not buying one while they were in production.  Well, I found one listed as "brand new" on Reverb a few days ago, and pulled the trigger.  I assumed it was NOS, since their current lineup does not include it, but when I opened the package today, the Certificate of Authenticity says March 20, 2018!  So, it looks like they're back in production, although I haven't seen any other new ones for sale (or used ones for that matter).  After playing it a bit, I concur with other's opinions here -- the fit & finish is incredible but it's definitely body-heavy (esp with the bigsby?).  The flame is much nicer in person than in the photos,  and polished ebony fretboard is a very nice touch.  So far, I really like the Duncan phat-cats, which I think are a change from earlier models.  I'm not the greatest photographer, but here are a couple of pics to prove it's real Smile

What makes a luthier go down in history?
Posted by: nazump - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

What qualities do you think the big boys like Martin, Gibson and Taylor have that make them so sought after, and collectible in some cases?

Do you think Eastman will ever join their ranks? I'm thinking they won't. Just the fact that they are "budget" high end guitars made in China seems like it won't have the same clout as a "traditional American made" guitar. Eastmans are wonderful instruments, I don't think anyone on this forum would argue that, but what do you think? Will Eastman go down in history and be a sought after brand the likes of Martin, Gibson and Taylor? Why or why not?

  OM Pickguard
Posted by: GK34 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (10)

I am on the fence about adding a pickguard to my Eastman E20OM. I am interested to know how many OM owners here added pickguards or decided against it. Also, is there a good source for a nice OM pickguard out there?

  ngd Eastman E2D
Posted by: justintune - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

hi all
first post,
didn't even know about this forum until a month or so ago....

I bought the Eastman booth NAMM show E2D  from Jim @  Blues Angel Music in FL

I really like it,  nice contrast to my 2010 E10D

it is very well balanced,  like the EQ is straight across, while the E10D would be a smiley face, like a Martin!

I really like the response for flatpicking, even though it is great for strumming and fingerpicking too

it is ....well........    real and spectacular  Wink

oh....and the nut width is 1 3/4,   with 2 5/32 saddle spacing,  perfect for me!

I am the owner of the Eastman AC808 that billymo posted about. With the exception of surface finish checking and some dings around the binding the guitar is indeed in great condition. Straight neck, nice set up and a great tone. I wouldn't be selling this guitar but the tax man is calling my name and I am going to have to liquidate most of my collection.
Price is $575.00 plus actual cost of shipping from 80526

SOLD PENDING FUNDS

  Strap button addition
Posted by: robhanesworth - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

I had wondered in another thread if adding a strap button constituted a modification that would void my Eastman warranty. I did not think it should but wanted to be sure.

Below is Eastman's response to an email:

Hello Rob,

The warranty for your guitar will only be voided for issues in direct relation to drilling the hole for the strap button. If there are any other issues with your guitar we will still honor the warranty. However, we will not cover any issues caused by the addition of a strap button which is why we would recommend taking the guitar to a professional luthier to have the modification done.

Thank you,
Eastman Guitars
