Eastman DM2/v
Posted by: AlanSam - Forum: Guitar Videos - No Replies

I was just browsing the internet and came across this vid demonstrating the Eastman DM2/v Selmer-like jazz guitar of the kind Django Reinhardt played. It is a bit too niche even for me but interesting nonetheless not least for its 26.4" scale length - at least it has a 1 3/4" nut lol. Has anyone owned or even played one of these?

  E6D Herringbone/ E10D Slothead!
Posted by: JJStubby - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

Traded for a rare E10D slothead, super clean. Then traded it for a really nice E6D herringbone with ivory binding and got boot! Both great guitars but the E6D to me sounded a little more balanced and focused. Could be the difference between the adi v sitka tops and the strings on the E10. Nonetheless I personally prefer this particular E6 over the slothead because of aesthetics. Just not a slothead fan even though it was probably worth a little more.

Varnish finish care? Tips and tricks
Posted by: Cree - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Hello all, calling on all varnished guitar owners as to how you are cleaning/wiping down guitar when it starts to get grimy. I tend to not fuss with polishing any of my guitars and just generally spray a guitar cleaner on a cloth and gently wipe down my nitro and True Tone finished guits when they need it, but for my varnished ones, I've just been using a clean dry soft cloth to wipe down. Anyone have tips for cleaning/protecting the thin shellac? Or is a dry soft cloth enough? Sometimes it takes some pressure to clean up after a long set and would be great if there was something safe to use on it to make it easier to wipe down.

Gibson J185 Century 12 Fret Vintage Sunburst
Posted by: AlanSam - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (4)

Gibson's Century range is interesting and relatively affordable. This is a 12 fret 185 - the smaller sibling of the J200. Slim taper neck too -  if you like that kind of thing:-:-

They do a 12 fret J45 and 00 in the same range.

  2025 Eastman's slotted bridges
Posted by: Marble_85 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

Anyone else noticed the new slotted bridges instead of the usual ramped bridges on their new (2025) Eastman acoustics?

Today I noticed this for the first time during a string change on my E1SS. At first I thought the unslotted ebony bridge pin from the high E string was unfinished by mistake, but soon I found out all other bridge pins were unslotted as well. They fit really well/tight and I didn't expect that to happen as I always thought they supposed to be slotted.

I also noticed the slotted bridge and unslotted bridge pins on my AC122-2CE and that guitar came from a different shop and was newly acquired by me as well.

So I guess Eastman has changed a concept for 2025?

Anyone else who can chime in/confirm?
