Hello! Newb here.

I’ve owned my T386 for a few years now. I installed Seth Lover humbuckers and combined with Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds is probably the nicest sounding electric I’ve ever played. I am 55 years old and have been playing since I was 14 so I’ve played a lot of guitars over the decades. Eastman punches way above its price range that’s for sure. A couple of questions for the ladies and gents in this group. I’ve decided to jump in the deep end of the pool and learn Jazz guitar. I’ve ordered an AR805CE from Eastman. Anyone here own one and what are your thoughts? I have two amps at the moment a Fender Princeton Tone Master and a Blues Jr. I’m thinking they will work for a nice Jazz sound but recommendations will gladly be considered. I also went completely stupid and grabbed an SB59 off the used market dirt cheap so a question about the neck size between that and a 50’s Gibson Les Paul. Are they remotely similar? Both guitars should arrive today unless the 805 is still lost in the black hole called UPS.

  E20SSv VG+ condition Price drop - $sold w/shipping
Posted by: TomC - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (8)

2022 slope shoulder E-20SSv with vintage varnish finish - before they changed the finish in current models. Adirondack spruce with Rosewood B/S short scale (24.75") slope shoulder. Nut = 1.747" Note - I searched A LONG time to find one with this width nut. Tuners have been changed out to Gotohs with white buttons. Ebony bridge pins are changed to bone. Strap pin added at heel. K&K pick up has been added. A custom fitted John Pearse ebony armrest is installed. Because of the vintage varnish finish, I will not attempt to remove it. There are two extra bumps in addition to the factory wear - see pics below. Comes in Atkin branded TKL hard shell case (long story) that is in like new condition.

Forgot to add - shipping included, any payment fees extra. I thought I would post here first and in a few days most on AGF. Thanks for looking.

I haven't been active here but I have had several Eastman instruments come to my life in the last several years. They've all been excellent. So, I've always loved the old Gibson oval hole archtops but they're either beat to death or out of my price range (or both) Anyhoo, I did a google search on Easter Sunday and this beauty popped up. I did not hesitate and it will be in my hands next week. I have zero jazz chops but that's OK. I'll play my fingerstyle blues with it and maybe try to learn some easy jazz progressions. Regardless, I was able to buy it and that has not always been the case so why not? I had to delay shipment because of my traveling but it should arrive a week from today. I'll post my own pics when I get it but the dealer pics are much better than anything I'll get with my cell phone.

  Eastman warranty experience
Posted by: Liamlyon96 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (11)

I got my guitar back after around 4 weeks, eastman repaired the bridge they replaced the whole thing after it had crack going through the pin holes, well there is some scratches and finish gone around the bridge now but its barely [Image: KTIckCn.jpeg]noticeable and the bridge looks like it's glued on perfect. The only thing a few of the pins can't go all way down anymore and there's no string ramps either so I'm worried the bridge might crack again. But the worst part seems like the bridge plate got chipped out it was definitely not like this before it left me plus no sign of the missing wood in my guitar heres a photo and if anyone can tell me there fought on if this is a problem.

  Eastman E10P neck?
Posted by: Myopic Squirrel - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

The downsizing continues! Presently looking at Parlors and asking if anyone could please describe the E10P neck carve. Also looking at the Larrivee P-01 (1 3/4” nut) which, while being wide, is not as deep as the neck on my OM. Is the P neck thickness the same as the OM? Thank you in advance.

I read that on a forum somewhere and it just rang true.

For sure Martin lovers will yell kick and scream, but it works for me.

  SB54/V-LTD-BK Pickups
Posted by: Seths Cat - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

Hi All
I have an SB54/V-Ltd, bought from the original owner and has not really been used.
I always go to town setting up a new guitar and giving it a clean. Last thing on the set up was pick up heights. This had the Staple P90 pretty much spot on but the P90 in the bridge was way too low. I proceed to investigate, basically once I took the strings off and removed the bridge pickup there was no foam in the cavity and no springs, P90s generally have one or the other so you can adjust the the pickup up and down. I sorted this problem out easily by cutting down a spring I had which made me two springs so now the bridge pickup adjust up and down.

Whilst I had the strings off I thought I would take a look at the Staple P90 in the neck, what I found was the same as the bridge, no foam or springs for adjustment ? What I also found was the routing in the neck for the Staple P90 was really badly done and I mean poor to say the least. What I am referring to is the route to accommodate for the length of the Staple P90, the main route is fine. Its is all over the place.

So questions:
Why on this guitar was there no foam or springs in the P90 pickup cavities for adjustment as these are the usual two methods used on P90 pickups. Please comment by anyone who owns this guitar, I am not asking for solutions I am asking has any other owner of this guitar had the same problem.

The lower route to clear the length of the Staple pick up in the neck was very very poorly done. Please comment by anyone who owns this guitar. I am not asking for a solution I am asking has any other owner of this guitar seen the same poor work in the neck cavity.

I would greatly appreciate some comments.

Thanks

  String preferences for mahogany dreads
Posted by: Sunriseguy - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

I realize that string preference is very subjective but I'm going to ask anyway.  I'm about to change the strings on my E6d-tc which is currently strung with XT 80/20 lights. They don't sound bad but I would like to tame the trebles a bit. Wondering if any of you E6/E10 etc. dread owners could offer up any suggestions. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
