Hi, another newbie. I’m Mike and I have a F814 mandolin from 2005. I previously had an Eastman Octave mandolin and a F615 which I didn’t bond with.
im after a small bodied 12 fret acoustic but it needs a wide fingerboard. I have a Blueridge BR341 which is the right size, plays ok but I not in love with the tone. I’ve had it 10 years and it was my main gigging guitar but it’s time for a change.
cheers Mike
btw my main mandolin is a National. Resophonic RM1, it’s a fantastic instrument!

The back is even nicer!

  L-OM-QS
Posted by: eastmanschool - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (9)

I don't know if the few of these in shops are prototypes or if they've gone into production but, has anyone played a L-OM-QS model? Or even seen one? Failing that, maybe someone's got the skinny on it. Seems to be a cross between the traditional and the AC series...

Intriguing because of its 25.4" scale.

  Nut before saddle?
Posted by: RikJ - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

Hi all!

First post as a member! I've had my E6OM for two years now and are about to embark on my first diy setup.
I have no nut files (yet) so I was just planning on addressing the truss rod and saddle. Is there any harm in that? Or should I always look at the overall picture?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Question: Replacement tuners for T486 Semi-Hollow?
Posted by: thescumalsorises - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

Hi all -- I'm looking to upgrade the tuners on my Eastman T486 semi-hollow electric and would appreciate some guidance. Is anyone aware of tuners (particularly locking) that would fit as drop-in replacements -- that is, without needing to drill or expand any of the existing holes and routes?

While the tuners (PingWell RM1239-NV) appear to be Kluson-shaped, I've read elsewhere that Kluson and many Kluson-style replacements aren't a straight fit.

Anyone know of or have any luck with drop-in replacement tuners for these? Appreciate any help you can provide.

  HELP with my 2010 E20D , , ,
Posted by: Jeffafa - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (1)

Need some help from some member/members who have an older E20D that has NOT had their saddle worked on , , , in other words, the saddle is the ORIGINAL height as when you bought it. If someone could give me three (3) measurements of the height of their saddle:  1) at the outside of and next to the 1st string, 2) at the outside of and next to the 6th (bass) string AND a measurement between the 3rd and 4th string,  I would be very grateful.  If you care to know why , , , ????  I recently had some "hack" at a shop lower my saddle (against my wishes) making my guitar half of what it sounded like in volume AND he filed the nut with the strings in it so that the frets buzz and the bone material from the filing is laying over the strings. Weird, huh ?  So , , , any help with the measurements is much appreciated. I've found a new shop I'm going to try out to get a new bone nut and compensated bone saddle. I want to take these measurements with me to the new luthier.

  SB59 / anyone top wrap?
Posted by: Be12C - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

I've been mostly playing acoustic and have sold most of my electrics. I never could get into playing Les Paul's but then again only tried some of the cheaper ones. Just picked up a SB59 varnish and love it. I was wondering if anyone is top wrapping or not. Being more at home with acoustic I worry about bending cords out of tune if the strings get too slinky. The SB59 gives me the warmth I get from my acoustics. I have a E20OO, E20OOSS/V, E20SS, and a couple of Emerald carbon fiber acoustics which I highly recommend. It is just ridiculously difficult to find better guitars for the money than an Eastman...

  SB59/n Goldburst questions.
Posted by: Northwesteastman - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (2)

Hi all.

I am looking for more details/spec about the model SB59/n model.

I can’t find anything in the Eastman website about that model and internet searches all bring me to the SB59.

Does anyone know about this model and the difference between the SB59/n and the SB59?

Thanks in advance.

  E10ss/v
Posted by: REHII - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (10)

I saw this E10ss/v today at Martin music in Memphis. I really like it. They have had some E6SS guitars in the past few months that had similar looking wood for the backs.
The wood on the back and sides was very nicely figured.
But it certainly does not look like the Khaya that my E6D and most of the other “mahogany.” Eastmans I have seen.
I wonder if this is another of Eastmans “substitutions” they make and don’t tell anyone about.
Maybe “Utilie”
Check the photos.
I can’t believe it’s the same Khaya species we have been seeing

  Eastman T184MX vs T484MX
Posted by: DCG - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (1)

Have any of you compared the T184 with the T484 (or any of the larger body versions)?

Solid wood vs laminate.
Nearly fully-hollow vs centerblock.
Different pickups.
