Saw this on Facebook Marketplace...no affiliation, but it seems like a really good price on an older model.  I'm pretty sure that these 'HE' models were exclusive to the Music & Arts music store chain.  I once owned an HE model...honestly I didn't think the quality was quite up to the standards of the regular label ones, but mine could have been just a one-off.

Love my E10-SS with ebony pins, wondering what ya'll think the audio difference would be (other than color) if I switched them to bone?

Why is Eastman so reluctant to put a 1 3/4" nut the SS models? The Ds and OMs sell just fine with the full profile 1 3/4" necks. Do they really think they will LOSE sales by going away from the 1 11/16" low profile neck on the slope shoulders? Why not designate at least one SS model with a wide, full neck? And, subsequently, if they feel that 1 11/16" low profile necks are so desirable for customers and necessary for the company to attain sales numbers, they could and should offer them on at least one E Series D and OM model.

Has anyone tried these yet? Thoughts?  I know they're in the more expensive category and wondering if they're worth it.  Thanks!

I was driving from OKC to Dallas and noticed Sky Guitars was a very short detour off of Interstate 35. Mostly worked with Brandon and talked to the owner - sorry I forgot his name. They have a fairly wide variety of Eastman acoustics and maybe even stronger selection of electrics with some mandolins as well. Brandon was very helpful. The higher priced Eastmans are in single cases on the wall or hangers. They insist on taking them out. One interesting tidbit - they have a guy do a quick check and set up before giving you the guitar to try. The two models I was most interested were a AC630BD and E20SSv. Both very nice guitars. The 630 was a little brighter than I would prefer, but would have to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing guitars I have ever played. The E20SSv seemed richer or fuller than the standard E20SS. The vintage finish was well done if you like that kind of thing. The one I tried that I really liked was an E20D (non TC) with some beautiful figuring in the top. Big and bold and responsive to a light touch. Unfortunately there is no way I can get that one in the door with an E20D-MR-TC already on order (as I was quickly reminded of by my better half) They also had a good selection of E1s 2s and 3s if anyone is in the market.

Bottom line - very nice shop. Good variety of models. Helpful staff. I also liked that they didn't hover when I was trying a guitar. One last interesting tidbit - they mentioned that most of their Eastman sales are on-line vs walk-in.

The Acoustic Shoppe has one for sale as of 8:30 this morning. It's an M22 model. Just what I wanted, but gave up waiting for one in March and bought the Sitka version. The Sitka is good, the Alpine...I'll never know. Darn it!!

I am not a stranger to Eastman guitars, but my experience has been mixed. I recently got my hands on an E1-OM CLA which is a fantastic little guitar, even though it has a rosewood bridge and fretboard. I liked it so much, I negotiated an acceptable discount rather than return it.
I like it so much, I've bought the D version 2nd hand online, and am awaiting delivery.
I've been playing 48 years now (gasp) have an assortment of excellent guitars. When an Eastman is 'right,' I can't think of a better make, especially at the price points. They've jumped a lot, though. I paid €800 for an E10-D in 2014, they're €1,500 now. Even the E1 range has jumped. But if the E1D works out, I'll have gotten 2 great guitars for about €1000.

Speaking of vintage vibe and tone -- and on this page recently, Martin's Streetmaster and 00015 , and the Guild M-20 -- I just picked up this guy. 

Sale price wow at $539.00 CND (no case or bag).

 All solid, sitka on mahog, padauk fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, scale 24.9",  1 3/4 nut. 

Super lightweight, with a light satin finish, it's got its own voice, for sure --woody, airy, clear, resonant (really good note separation)-- and is playable/responsive as all-get-out. The intonation's pretty much spot on.  A comparison to a Waterloo 14 I tried in a shop works only roughly; *similar* feel and overall tone, but obviously not in the same league for touch and shimmer. 

The c- neck is slightly less chunky than those on the Eastmans, but it's a minor adjustment for me. The tuners hold quite well (some humidity shifts these days); might swap 'em later. 

Predictably, there's not a ton of volume in a jam setting (especially playing fingerstyle) but the Fishman sonitone is serviceable; in fact it sounds less "quacky" in this instrument than in others i've heard, maybe because of the lightness of the top? I use electronics mostly for practising with a looper anyway. 

Checking out the inside with a compact mirror, I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the construction and fit, no glue globs or glitches or misalignment of bracing that I could notice. 

 A caution: RK has had some quality control issues --out-of the-box set up can be notoriously hit and miss, fret work iffy --but my local dealer had several in stock: we chose the nicest, and the set up was straightforward on this one, truss rod and a little saddle sanding. I'd advise a hands-on audition if you can get to one or, if buying online, a trusted vendor (with a good returns policy) who will give the instrument some careful attention before it goes out the door. 

Very good couch companion and haul-around. Feels so far like a keeper.

Visiting other forums and thoroughly amazed that people in droves jump to get the latest and greatest build with a miniscule build difference thinking it will be the "be all end all" and unless you are richer than rich forget a vintage model selling for 25,50,75,100,150, 200KKKK's, folks constantly buying and selling then buying and selling then buying and selling on and on dang it's bound to be there somewhere!

I'm a curmudgeon and some things simply agitate me...I even agitate myself lol
