When does wood open up?
Posted by: Matt_Raz - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (8)

Just bought a new-to-me e10ss last month. It’s just an amazing guitar. It was built in 2014, but I was wondering if the wood has already opened up or if I could expect more (welcome) changes. Either way, I’m very happy with this guitar!

  Getting Curious About Martinsed
Posted by: vashondan - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (27)

I've started thinking about what my next purchase might be and have been looking and listening to Martins especially the 00018 and 00028.  One of my guitars would have to go ( all things point to one in particular) and I'd have to save some money but I've really thought that I'd like to take a step up.  I'm not sure it's a step up of course which is why I'm posting.

Any of you have experience with these guitars?  What are your thoughts. I suppose ever if your experience wasn't with one of the ones I mention I'd still like to hear your thoughts.

Boutique guitars are way out of my league but something about these has me thinking!

  New E100M-TC arriving today! Update
Posted by: eljay - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (10)

From L.A. Guitar Sales . . .

To this moment, I've not laid a hand on an Eastman; purchased on the strength of Eastman's reputation. No shortage of good press!

The guitar will join a couple of Gibson custom-shop square shoulders and a Yamaha LL-56.

I'll share the NGD with y'all as soon as I can!

Regards, eljay

it's here!

  Bourgeois/Eastman info:
Posted by: Shishigashira - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

This was posted over at AGF by someone (not me) but not getting a lot of interest there.  Some info about stuff we've speculated about here  https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/foru...p?t=617757

With that MSRP, I expect MAP in the low $2000s which is right in line with the priciest Eastmans and below the lowest Bourgeois.

I have info about Bourgeois & Eastman

This may be old news to some. I asked the question about the partnership, and here is what Bourgeois replied:

Though the guitars or information on the guitars is not yet posted on the website, I can share some information with you.

These guitars will initially be available in OM and Dread body shapes, a 25.5” scale and a 1 23/32” nut.

We anticipate the guitars to be available from our dealers in quarter 4 of this year with a staring MSRP of $2,650.

These guitars are designed to allow for a lower price entry point to the Bourgeois brand while still incorporating what makes Bourgeois guitars great: sound boards sourced and voiced by the same team in the same manner as all our Bourgeois guitars and guitars built using Bourgeois guitars specifications and standards.

More information about the guitars will be available on the website as we get closer to having the guitars in dealerships.

We could not be more thrilled about this new Bourgeois guitar line and believe it has the ability to make a big impact.

  Dave's Guitar Shop
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (48)

With Dave's getting a lot of attention here, it seems like a good idea to post a thread, when something comes available that might interest one or more EGF forum members.

For example, if anyone sees an E8D-TC (Alpine), let me know.  Smile

That being said, I just saw a 2015 E10-00-M, which is an all flame, all Mahogany 12-fret, 00 guitar.  This was discontinued a few years ago by Eastman, but I think I've seen a few members ask about this one.  You can get it for $795 here:  https://davesguitar.com/products/eastman/e10-00-m-15/

Grab it -- this one is a rare find and probably won't be available for long.

  Dave’s strikes again-NGD (inbound)

Dave’s has been adding inventory every day. Another E6D-TC with the Alpine top popped up and I grabbed it. Seems like a low risk proposition after the positive reviews. First Eastman and first dreadnought. Pretty psyched!

  Dana Bourgeois - Interesting Videos
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (18)

I've been fantasizing about buying a Bourgeois guitar one day (is it worth divorce?), and came across a few videos with Dana Bourgeois discussing tonewoods and voicing guitars.  They were really interesting, and links to them are below. Maybe some of you already know this, but Adirondack Spruce isn't actually a different species of Spruce at all.  Rather, they are just harvested from a specific area in the Adirondacks moutains and other areas in the Northeastern region of the US.  I never knew that!   Dana definitely prefers calling them Red Spruce instead of Adirondack.

Does anyone on this forum own a Bourgeois guitar?  Maybe one day I can buy one! I still can't get over how wonderful these guitars sound, and they are beautiful intsruments.  Dana truly is a master luthier.

Here are the videos.

  NGD soon...
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (30)

It's all Brian's fault. Again.

I was really thinking about ordering an AC522CE -- mostly because 1) I wanted a second mahogany b&s guitar but wanted something other than Sitka or Adi, and the 522CE is topped with European spruce; 2) the sound port. I'd even talked to Brian at the Acoustic Shoppe about ordering one.

But then there were several posts about Alpine spruce. Brian snagged an E6D-TC Ltd with Alpine spruce and wrote an enticing review of it. I also noticed that at The Acoustic Shoppe there were three new E6D-TC Ltds topped with Alpine... and they're less expensive than the AC522CE, even if I have them install a K&K Pure Mini. I thought about it and thought about it, and the wallet won.

So this afternoon, I talked to John at the Acoustic Shoppe (chapboogie here) and pulled the trigger on an E6D-TC Ltd. Alpine. It should be coming soonish.

And to offset some of the expense, I have my Guild GAD-F212 12-string up for sale locally. If anyone here's interested, let me know!
