Anne Briggs and her partner Bert Jansch in full flow with this Northern Irish ballad. I listen to a lot of classical music, (JSB rules OK!) and folk music from around the world, but I am most moved by the traditional music of the British Isles - especially when performed this well :-

And, this ancient Irish ballad sung by a young Anne Briggs gives me goose pimples :-

  Companion for E20D?
Posted by: kemill - Forum: Introductions and EGF Annoucements - Replies (6)

Hey All,
Frequent reader, first time posting.  About 3 years ago I bought an E20D and immediately began a huge Eastman fan. I've received a lot of compliments on the looks, quality and most importantly sound.  Now I'm interested in getting a smaller body, spruce/mahogany (couch) guitar to be a good companion for my rosewood dread.  I'm considering 3 different Eastmans... E10om, E10ooss (in store purchase) or E60m (online purchase).  I wouldn't even be opposed to considering the E1om (for obvious budgetary reasons).

I play regularly with 2 friends, who both play dreadnaughts. So I'm looking for something with a rich, full sound that projects well.  I realize buying a guitar is subjective and is like buying clothes.  In the catalog everything looks great but you can't really tell how it fits until you try it on.  The closest Eastman dealer is over an hour away and with the COVID restrictions, I haven't had an opportunity to get there.

I've enjoy reading all of your posts.  So until I can get the chance to play the E10om and E10ooss, I thought  it would be interesting to see what you think would be the best complement to my E20D.

Thoughts?    Thanks in advance

Hello everyone ,

I’m new to the forum . I’ve just bought a T486 SB , and I’m totally blown away by how good it is ... I’ve had many from the high end USA manufacturers over the years , and would honestly put this up there among them ..infact , better than some from their “ custom shops”... I’m trying  to work out year of manufacture - without much success - the serial number is 15850515...ant helps would be much appreciated . Thanks ,
Barry

Hard case for PCH-3 Koa OM
Posted by: Airborne - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (7)

Looking for a decent case for this guitar.

I will be out of state for approximately 10 weeks during the months of January, February, and part of March. I live in Michigan, so this is a dry period, and the guitar will be left there.

My plan is to have the Humidipak system inside the case with one in the headstock area, and two in a sound hole pouch.

Wondering if you folks have any names, or suggestions of brand of cases?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  When was intro of E10-00SS?
Posted by: Rutherford3rd - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (2)

Looking at a used one, looks legit, but the pickguard is more Martin style than the Gibson L-00 style that is on new ones shipping today.

Might be an add-on.  The seller does not know.  I can go see it soon, but am a little cautious.  Comes with a gig bag, not a HSC.

  NGD E10 OM-SB
Posted by: Guzzi Fan - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (7)

I finally received my E10 OM-SB a few days ago.  It is a beautiful little guitar and I am enjoying getting to know it!  I had become accustomed to the AC122-2CE with its Grand Auditorium size and long scale, so the OM size and short scale felt a little bit odd at first.  I am very impressed by the fit, finish, and appearance of the E10; it is really a beautiful little guitar!  The top is tight sounding, but I enjoy the tone as is, and look forward to the changes over time.  I am amazed at the volume of the E10 OM!

The AC122-2CE won’t be going anywhere, as I want the tonal variety of a couple of different guitars.  As you can imagine, the all solid GA sapele with monel strings is a completely different sound than an OM adi/mahogany.  I will be keeping the factory strings on the guitar for a few weeks longer, and then will start to experiment with the string choice, so I will be asking all of you experienced Eastman owners for suggestions of what worked well for you.

So, the guitar is great, now I just need to work on my playing skills!   Smile
