Got my new E20 yesterday afternoon. So far right out of the box it's my favorite though I really like the E8 as well.  Posting a pic of the E8 & E20 side by side and the E20 up close. The backs look remarkably the same.    Both are TC's but neither as dark as the dreadnaught posted in another thread. Just interesting not a problem. I was going nuts waiting for it as Fedex delayed delivery for 5 days but it was worth the wait.  The E6 is now relegated to evenings in front of the tv.  It's grown on me as well but I guess I'm a rosewood kind of guy!

My first attempt at recording, a cover version of the Beatles hit, "Yesterday". It was my first try at using a DAW with Reaper. (yes, I have finally fell into the rabbit hole of the DAW crowd) The recording was made using the Eastman T486 into a Boss ME-80, then direct into a Focusrite 2i2 Scarlett. For a backing track I used an instrumental version by The String Quartet on You Tube.

Was looking at Eastman guitars on Reverb last week and seen an ad for an E10D in immaculate condition for $600.00.  I am always a little skiddish on deals like this that are too good to be true, but it lured me in like a duck to corn.  I contacted the gentleman and was told the guitar was in immaculate  condition and came with a like new hard case which was in same condition.  We talked for a while and then I asked why the price was so cheap and he indicated that he was a Gibson man and did not like the Martin-Eastman design and needed to sell the guitar.  I asked what was wrong with the guitar and he indicated NOTHING was wrong he just needed to sell it!  To make a long story short, I sent him the money and he shipped the guitar to me, on his dime. When I received it, it was in like NEW condition as was the case!  Of course I played it asap and noticed the "G" string had a slight twang to it.  SO, I took the strings off, checked all the internal bracing, which was good! I decided to flatten the neck to make it straight (it had too much relief) check the frets to see if all was fine, and Bingo, two very slight high frets very close to the soundhole, they rocked just very slightly, so I dressed them down, restrung the neck, put just a tad of relief in the neck, and WOW !!!! This thing is LOUD, with a beautiful tone, each note was clear and it rings like a church organ !  So, what I am getting at is this, if a deal is too good to be true, it usually is, BUT if you can do a little luthier work and aren't afraid to jump in, sometimes the water isn't as bad as you think.  These two frets cost him a good bit of money he lost, thinking he was pawning a lemon off on someone else.  Worked out great for me and it took about 5 minutes of work to get a wonderful sounding guitar at more than less than half the price of a new one!!!!!!!!

In another thread that I had posted a couple of you posted about a pick that you're using.  I don't remember the thread or who it was although I think one of you was Steve.  I thought I had made a note but apparently not. If you remember what I'm talking about would you please tell me again?  Thanks!

I have seen some e6dtc with Swiss tops that seem to have a one piece neck.
Most Eastman e series I have seen have an obvious scarf joint at the headstock and a stacked heel.
But these guitars appear to be one piec necks. Defiantly no triangular shaped scarf joint at the headstock.
But the heel area is kinda dark so I maybe can’t tell.
And as for proof of the “Swiss alpine tops” on the e6dtc the only proof the guitar store has is a sticker on the original shipping box
Nothing in the label or COA about anything other than regular model spec woods.
If they are using one piece necks why wouldn’t they say so?

Hello Again - Has anyone looked into guitar or gun safes ? I have been trying to find a safe that will store 3 dreadnaught size guitars - main concern is for protection against theft with fire protection a secondary issue - everything I have looked at has either been too small, too expensive, too big, etc. - haven't seen much specifically for guitars, most everything seems geared towards guns - there is one (gun safe) sold through Costco for about $750 that might work but it has a bunch of bracketry installed to facilitate gun storage that would have to be removed and information about removal without causing damage is not to be found - you folks usually have good info and ideas about all things guitar so I thought I'd ask......

I have a Gibson J45 Standard - Natural Color.  The J45 is in pristine condition with OHSC. Looking for $1950.00 or will trade for the right Eastman of close or equal value!  If interested, let me know and I will send pics.  Thanks

Hey folks, new user here but have owned this guitar new since 2013!  I usually trade or buy/sell my electrics every few years, but this acoustic is just the "right" one for me.  Don't feel a need or itch for something else.

Anyway.

At one point in time I loaned it to a friend and it came back with some finish missing from the neck.  I believe the finish is nitro.  It has never really bothered me, but I'm too ignorant to know if it will become a problem in the long run... is there something to be done to repair this?  Should I even worry about it?




In the same vein, at some point a guitar stand or mic stand got knocked over and scraped the top.  Anything to be done about this, or just leave it?

Howdy Folks - Has anyone installed a Plate Mate (brass bridge plate protector) on an Eastman ? It looks like the closest size (for me) that they offer is for 2 1/8" string spacing - my E40D is 2 5/32" - wondering if it would fit.....1/32" isn't much but these things aren't cheap and I don't want to buy something that won't work.....Thanks !!

EGF members - my webhost is requiring an update to PHP, which means I need to do a fairly large update to the version of the code running the site.  I will need to take the board offline briefly (hopefully less than 10 minutes or so) while I perform the update. 

Hopefully it all goes smoothly (fingers crossed!)
