E40 MR Models w/ Bolt On Necks!
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (21)

Someone posted this video on AGF.  It's a thermocured "40" series with a Madagascar Rosewood body.  And if that wasn't exciting enough, at 3:34, he shows the inside of the guitar to point out that the neck is a bolt-on neck, not a dovetail.  This is a potentially huge development in the Bourgeois / Eastman collaboration.

  Pickup for my eastman
Posted by: Cromwell - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (15)

As you might have seen from my other post, I've recently just bought an Eastman e10ss. I'm looking for a pickup for it, I'd get it professionally installed by a luithier. I'm mainly a strummer, with a bit of flat picking if that makes a difference when it comes to pickups.

Can someone who has had a pickup installed in their guitar please give me some advice. I'm considering the lr baggs anthem, but I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks

Neck "feel" of SS vs others with 1 3/4 inch necks
Posted by: eastman bubba - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Hello Eastmen (and Eastwomen too maybe? Wink ),

Do the necks on the slope shoulders (that are actually 1 11/16) feel remarkably different than other models with 1.75 (at nut) Eastmans?  Anybody have any string spacing measurements at nut for there SS model (newer)?

Thanks!!
Blair

  Walking Wounded

I was wondering whether any of you are suffering from guitar-induced or other injuries which impact on your playing. For my part, four years of playing almost exclusively steel string guitars has seen my chording hand finger joints lose some stability. OK I am not a youngster (70) but fifty odd years of predominantly nylon strings passed without any problem. I also suffer from a slight loss of sensitivity down my RHS after fracturing a vertabra ten years ago. Doesn't stop me learning new stuff, but is a right royal pain in the arse*.

  Slowly Being Driven Mad
Posted by: Ted - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (17)

I've recently sold off some of my collection so I have money burning a hole in my pocket. Between La guitar, Acoustic Shoppe, and Dave's there are about 7 or 8 instruments that I'd like to try.
I don't know if there are any other fans of The Big Bang Theory- there was an episode where Sheldon couldn't decide which new game system to buy and was driving everyone crazy- it's about like that but worse.
Too many pros and cons- back and forth, back and forth......AARGH!

2017 E10OM-Ltd for sale (pic heavy) SOLD
Posted by: NoiseFloor - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (13)

After a lot of consideration, I've decided to put my 2017 E10OM-Ltd up for sale.  It is in near mint condition, and I don't think it was played much before I got it.  Although it is a great sounding guitar and absolutely beautiful, I am likely mostly going to play my E10P and E8D, and I really try not to 'collect'.  I've included a lot of detailed pics, and will take more and answer any questions.

I am looking for SOLD.  I'm pretty set on price, as I don't really need to sell and this is what I have in it.

E6D w/ Herringbone and White Binding
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

I just saw this on LA Guitar Sale's reverb page. An E6D with herringbone and white binding instead of the tortoise binding. I've never seen this before on an E6D, and they've always had tortoise binding. I wonder if this was custom, or is Eastman experimenting more? Does this mean we could see some rosewood guitars with tortoise binding moving forward?

  "Wait 24 hours before opening"
Posted by: Ted - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (10)

I'm starting to hear this new thing a lot- wait 24 hours after you receive your guitar before opening the box.
Seriously? I couldn't tell you how many guitars I've had shipped to me in the last 45 years or so and I've never had a guitar damaged from opening it, pretty much, as soon as I got it.
I mean, some common sense could be applied when a person gets a guitar in the winter and brings it into a warm house. Take the case out of the box and let it warm up for a few hours before you actually open the case- but 24 hours?
Is it just me?

  Made By Eastman
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: Guitar Videos - Replies (2)

A few days ago, Eastman released four short videos, providing some insight into Eastman's factory.  While the company has gotten bigger, it seems that they have retained their handcrafted ways.

Here is the fourth video on their guitars.  Incidentally, Mark H. (Eastman's national sales manager) created the music for the clip.

Here are the other clips.

Vol. 2: Strings
