Anybody know what the specification for the knobs is for a T386.
I am presuming metric (6mm), 20 spline, split shaft, standard depth

Just want to check in to make sure I order the right ones - had a spline mismatch in the past - not great.

Ok - what is your favourite non-Eastman guitar? Mine is my 2005 Larrivee SD-50 slope shouldered dread - 12 fret, slotted headstock, Mahogany/Sitka tobacco burst. Achingly beautiful to look at, with a rich, sweet and clear tone. And loads of projection - no problem being heard. 1 7/8" nut and wide string spacing - a finger pickers delight. I suppose it's a bit of a niche guitar, but I would move my Martin 000-28 and Bourgeois EIR OM on before it. Apologies to those who only own Eastmans ha ha.

I’m seeking advice for my first Eastman purchase. I’m looking for a hollowbody (or semi-hollow without a full center block) that weighs <7 pounds. I really dislike heavy guitars.

I’m studying jazz guitar and love chord melody and solo guitar. I practice mostly unamplified, but — because I live in an apartment building — it’s important that the guitar have presence and be enjoyable to play, but not *too* loud. I love the versatile, warm sound of .012 round wounds with a wound third. I’m also a huge fan of the 80s-90s ECM players like John Abercrombie, Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny, etc. It’s a sound that I equate with acoustic sustain without overwhelming tinny-ness, and a mellow bass that stops juuuust short of being mushy. I can’t really blaze around eighth notes for hours, and don’t have that sort of interest.

I’ve narrowed it down to these three instruments, as I don’t want a full depth archtop. I’d love any feedback owners could share. Personally, I’d choose based on comfort while sitting down (I’m 6’ tall and play in a semi-Classical guitar style position, but with a strap), and for that clean, mellow tone when playing near the neck pickup. My purchase would involve a compromise somewhere, but whatever comes closest would get my vote.

Ordered a 2020 E2D from Sunrise Guitars,should be here by Thursday.The cedar top is exceptionally dark on this one along with a unique grain pattern.Also the back grain of the sapele is way different than any E2D or E1D that I’ve seen,similar to a rosewood grain.Hope it sounds as good as it looks.Plus I’ve gotta tortoloid guard coming that I think will spice it up! I sound like a kid in a candy store, but what the heck you only go round once. If I can figure out how to post photos,I will, I’m not too tech savvy.

Hello everybody - new member here. 

I picked up a T386 recently and trying to see if I can get the best out of the stock set up before considering upgrades. The guitar has been settling in nicely with various action tweaks and I have tinkered with PUP and pole piece heights. I am getting a nice breathy warm tone from the neck - with nice clarity. As others have said the bridge is pretty good too. 

I'm now at the point of thinking about the value of a PUP replacement. People seem to like the Seth Lovers in this instrument. 
The thing is that it has a maple neck - I am thinking that the Seths may accentuate the brightness and lose the warmth. 
Also seen people say that the Seths long legs present a problem with the cavity depth. Did you have to route the cavity out further (don't like the idea of that).

I'd like to ask anybody who's had experience - what did you get out of changing PUPs? Did you try the Seths and what kind of tonal difference did you feel you got out of them? Did anybody try any other PUP's and really like the results at all.

Hi fellow Eastman enthusiasts (Eastmanites?),

Finally doing an introduction after joining the forum quite some time back but not really getting around to contributing much, apart from posting on the Eastam-Bourgeois thread and realising that it was my first post.

I live in North Wales (UK) and discovered Eastman a couple of years ago when researching (i.e. Googling) for a small-bodied, 12-fret slothead that was of good quality and would be nice to play and own but, as it would be a 'second' guitar, was reasonably-priced. I also wanted a design that looked 'normal' so no weird headstocks, bridges, pickguards etc. The usual suspects (Martin, Collings, SCGC etc) made models that fitted all my requirements bar price. 

To cut a long story short, the E10P fitted the bill and, fortuitously, there was a dealer within a reasonable driving distance who had a good stock of Eastman, including an E10P with a sunburst top. I didn't need much persuading and snapped it up. With hindsight, I wish I'd grabbed one or two more guitars as they had a good stock - one of the salesmen was raving about an E10SS - and they had a good selection of electrics of all types, too. Sadly, the shop (Sounds Great Music in south Manchester) closed in Dec 2019 so not only is there no Eastman dealer local to me, Eastman guitars themselves seem to be getting a bit thinner on the ground here, the few dealers in the UK don't seem to have the stocks they were holding just a year or two ago.

Anyway, I'm an Eastman fan (I managed to get a few catalogues and literature, stickers and even a T-shirt from Sounds Great) and am impressed by the quality and value they offer. I'm looking at an E10SS or an E10-00SS/v next - I have one or two questions about these so will put them on the main forum in the near future. 

Mmm... a mandolin may be nice as well...
