Fretboard radius preferences for Acoustic
Posted by: Meathead - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Hi all -

I don't recall seeing a discussion on this, but how many of you prefer a certain fretboard radius for your acoustic guitars?

I seem to be OK anywhere in the range of 12-16, but would not want to go beyond 16 as it would be too flat.

This article is a good one on the topic:  https://www.theguitarjournal.com/what-fi...erpicking/

  Emerald X30 with Hyvibe incoming
Posted by: Meathead - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (15)

Well... as a fan of the advantages of carbon fiber acoustic guitars here in super dry Arizona, I have finally ordered an Emerald guitar.. specifically the X30 jumbo below.  It comes equipped with the incredible Hyvibe pickup system, which I am excited to try out.  I'll share more with EGF once it arrives and I've spent some time with it!

  Newbie looking for info
Posted by: RKIVES - Forum: Introductions and EGF Annoucements - Replies (2)

Greetings new to the Club, but I own 3 Eastmans
In the order I acquired them:
AR610CE
AC330-E-12
E20-OM-SB

Recently picked up the E20 (s/n: 9855), and looking for info , doesn't seem to match the serial number info listed on this site, but I guess it could be older than 2014.
Any info would be appreciated

Thanks,
Rick

  FS: Eastman E8OM-TC
Posted by: Family Man - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (3)

Eastman E8OM-TC purchased brand new in December 2022. I just don't play acoustic much at all these days so moving along my last one.

Specs:

This is the Eastman E8OM-TC, TC standing for Thermo Cured. The sitka spruce top is heat-treated in an oxygen-free kiln for not only an aged and yellowed appearance, but a tone that can be compared to an acoustic that's been played for years! The guitar has a warm and deep sound right out of the first few strums. Of course, it'll still get even better with age! More features include herringbone body binding, open-gear tuners, and an ebony fretboard with matching bridge and a bone nut/saddle!

Upgrade complete - report any issues here

Hi all -

The server host upgrade has been completed.  I have performed some basic testing, but if you see issues, please report here on this thread.  Note, it could take up to 72 hours for all the DNS changes to propagate worldwide, but hopefully everything will be running smoothly.

Very interesting video.  Has anyone performed this mod on any of their acoustics?

  ** Announcement - Server Upgrade **
Posted by: Meathead - Forum: Introductions and EGF Annoucements - Replies (3)

Hi EGF -

I am planning to move EGF to a new server host soon.  This means that sometime in the next week (timing TBD), if you visit EGF and it is down, don't despair - it will be back up!  I'm aiming to minimize the downtime and hopefully it will be less than an hour of downtime.

Thanks all!
Tim

Question The warmer Eastman semi-hollow?
Posted by: demian - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - No Replies

[Question] The warmer Eastman semi-hollow?

I am in need of a semi hollow body guitar and currently looking at Eastmans because they get great reviews. I own one of their acoustics and it’s the best OM Guitar I’ve ever played. I was looking at the T386 because the price is so right but there are reports that it’s very bright. I already have a tele and a Strat so need some thing that has some warmth. I prefer something with the laminate top, but still have a warm tone and sustain. Can the T386 deliver? I owned a Gibson CS336. An awesome guitar but very upper midgrangy. I like the full sized 335 size.
