Eastman AC422CE Tusq Bridge Pins vs. Ebony or Plain Wood - Any Preference?
Posted by: tinnitus - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

This might be a good forum to go fishing for observations about what kind of bridge pins you prefer - and why.

I'm intrigued that the label on the Tusq bridge pin package promises to "Increase rich harmonic content," but what does that mean? More bass? More treble? Mind-blowing, spine-tingling complexity?

Would appreciate, if possible, actual anecdotes (vs. conflicting scientific hypotheses about molecular structure of the materials like I often find on "that other forum"). Thanks in advance for weighing in.

  Taking A Break

Hey gang,

I'm taking a break from the forums for a bit.  I may pop in and out, but if you don't see me here as much, don't worry... and I'll be back on at a later point.

Keep playing!

  Eastman E1D Special?
Posted by: Blackmore Fan - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (11)

I've noticed that there is a TC version of the E1D that is referred to as the E1D Special.  The only places I've seen it mentioned are "coming soon" and require you to preorder.  Has anyone seen one of these in the wild, as in its out there and available for purchase or "now" online order?

  T59v Relic neck finish
Posted by: Silverface - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (15)

I recently purchased a new T59v online and have a question for other owners.
The rear of the neck has quite a few dings in it which you can feel when playing.
I’ve been told that it is supposed to be like that and is the result the relicing process.
Any other reliced guitars I’ve seen have a smooth ‘worn’ finish.
So are the necks on your T59t’s similar to mine?

  Just bought an OM

Hi, I picked this up a couple days ago. It's a nice guitar. I should add that I read on this forum that these are known to be quite bright, but I would not say that is a quality of this guitar. Perhaps the partnership with Bourgeois has led to some changes in manufacturing, I don't know.

Best,
Paul

  E8OM natural strings.
Posted by: Toucan - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Purchased this about 6 months ago new. I changed strings about a week ago with D'Addario EJ16's. Now it seems to have lost some of the lows than before.
Does anyone know what strings would have come on this new?

  NGD Eastman E1 OOSS SB
Posted by: Shadow - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (10)

It seems no one has played one of these, and being unable to get to a dealer to try for myself I decided to take the plunge.

My E1 OOSS-SB arrived today from Mak's Guitars in London (exemplary service from Mak as usual). I wanted a small-bodied guitar to throw in the car when we go away for breaks and as has often been said, the Eastman E1/E2 ranges offer as good value to quality as anything out there. I wasn't sure about the 1.72" nut, but having tried the E10 and E20 versions recently I was happy I'd be ok with which proved to be the case.

It's a lovely instrument, well-balanced across the strings with a very nice tone, and set up very well. The gig bag it comes in is good quality too, plenty of padding.

On first impressions I'm going to be very happy with this guitar. Really comfortable to play and sounds great with more bass than I'd have expected from an instrument this size. It's a couple of weeks ago now, but while I would have loved to have taken the E20 OOSS/v that I tried home with me, fabulous instrument, I actually think I prefer the tone of the E1 to the E10 OOSS.

Just pulled the trigger on a used 2019 E6D in Sunburst finish.  No TC top so I guess I’ll just have to play it in. Oh darn. Big Grin

Anyone have any suggestions for strings? This is going to be a little different animal from my AC308

Eastman E10SS and Fishman Aura Spectrum DI
Posted by: dayman - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

I recently acquired an Eastman E10SS and I’m contemplating installing a Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup to use with a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI to replace my current Epiphone IBG J45 as my stage guitar.

For those that have this setup, what IR image are you using with the Eastman? I currently have loaded the Gibson J45 images to use with my Epiphone. As I do not have a pickup installed in the Eastman yet, I can’t play around to find what image will work best. I’m curious if the Gibson J45 image may clash with the Eastman sound rather than produce favorable results.
