Eastman nut widths on new Thinline guitars
Posted by: Amigo - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (5)

I noticed that the specs on their website state a decrease from 1.75" to 1.72" (the stated nut width for the Romeo) sometimes between October 2022 and January 2023:
T186MX, T185MX, T184MX, T64, T59, T486, T484, T386
It is under 1mm, but that can make a difference. Anyone else noticed that?

  Break Angle Concern
Posted by: John-K - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (8)

So I had my luthier whittle a new bone saddle for my E10D. Very skilled and honest guy. After breaking in the strings for a couple weeks, it has developed the high E string sitar sound. It’s most prominent when playing a G chord but noticeable open. Could be a host of things. I will probably take it for him to look at. I don’t mess with my guitars too much. However I am concerned about the break angle, just looking at it. Thoughts?

  E6D-TC in action
Posted by: Aahzz - Forum: Guitar Videos - Replies (1)

Played a gig yesterday at a winery, used my E6D-TC with a Mojotone NC-1 through a Boss Acoustic Singer Live. I am more than happy with the tone, thought I'd share a video - I'm the guy wearing the bowler, and the first part of the video is just me strumming so you can get a decent idea of the tone, although it's still a cell phone video Smile

Another example - Mrs Aahzz missed the beginning of the song, but it comes in with me playing a lead, so it's good to give another tone example from the start Smile

  Still The Rain
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: Guitar Videos - Replies (4)

This is my latest song up on Bandcamp. I haven't shared many of those here, but thought I might this time. Denise mentioned yesterday that she thought most of my original tunes were more 'country' than anything else. She might be right. Tell me what you think.

And given that this is an Eastman guitar forum, know that all the guitars you hear (with the exception of the bass), are my Eastman acoustics, no matter how many effects I might have added.

  What’s rattling on my E8OM-tc
Posted by: JRB - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (20)

I’ve now had two of these E8OM-tc…the first one was sent back after several trips to a pro luthier trying to find the odd noise to no avail…only that it could be something with the trussrod. He suggested taking it up with the manufacturer. They said send it to them to repair or replace, I figured a repair but
Eastman sent me another new one with no explanation as to what the problem was or if they even looked… and this one has a rattling type sound also…very faint when strummed with fingers no pick, very noticeable with pick, nothing fingerpicking I can hear. I had the first one set-up & gone over…this one had a couple high frets & frets didn’t appear to be thoroughly crowned & the nut slots were tight & sticking…all has been corrected but the rattle is still present…I have two other Eastman guitars & no problems other than normal stuff.
This guitar is Beautiful & the tone is exceptional, I don’t want to be a PIA to Eastman but am somewhat disappointed.
I was wondering if anyone reading this has had a similar experience with their Eastman or any other acoustic they have or had…Thanks

Got both of these last week from the good folks at Blues Angels Music. They are incredible instruments, and just a joy to play. I have owned several Eastman guitars over the years, and they just seem to get better and better. They pair very well together. The E10ss just puts life at ease with it’s voice. While the SB brings out the kid in me. Totally ecstatic to own these superb guitars.

Don’t mean to hijack the other thread about the nut width, but I’m mainly wondering if anyone owns or has played one? In the market for a small body acoustic and the price is very attractive. Thanks.

Anyone played one of these? Just curious - it looks like a Taylor, but I would not be interested if it sounds like a Taylor. Too bright.
