Hi all -

I am trying to chase down a bug on the site that seems to be impacting login persistence across sessions; just letting you know if you see some unexpected behavior, it's not you - it's the site.  Hopefully will get this figured out - in the meantime appreciate your patience!

E10SS at Guitar Center in California
Posted by: Guzzi Fan - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (1)

I just came across this listing for a 2021 E10SS at a Guitar Center in California.  I talked to a rep at the store, and they do have the case and COA.  He said the guitar is in "players condition", so it doesn't sound mint at all, and would have to be checked carefully I think.

I am not interested, because it seems priced a little high at USD1199, and I will have duty and shipping to tack on to the total.  If it were pristine, I would probably take the chance, but it is not.

Anyway, I just thought I would pass it on, because the E10SS model seems to be scarce.  The economics will be different for you buyers in the US, so it might be worth checking out.

  T486 troubleshooting
Posted by: shylayers - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,
I am the proud new owner of a T486, the standard red model. Looks and plays great, but it seems like the pickup wiring is a bit funky.  I'm trying to figure out what might be going on with the wiring, and where to begin. Here's what happening:

Bridge Pickup selected: Both volume knobs and tone knobs control the sound (!). Lowering either volume knob takes the sound down all the way.
Both pickups selected: Same behavior as bridge pickup selected.
Neck pickup selected: Works as you'd expect.

I did notice a blob of solder on one of the wires, although both pickups do seem to be working. It leads me to believe the problem may be at the toggle switch?  But I thought I'd ask the opinions of the good people here, and how you might go about troubleshooting this.  I'm pretty good with soldering, but how much of a pain is it to yank the electronics?

Anyone try a lithium 9V battery with their LR Baggs pickup?
Posted by: cjhorne - Forum: General Chatter - No Replies

I made an inquiry to LR Baggs and received a response that the lithium 9V is ok to use, but no comments beyond that.  They did say they had some noise issues with industrial duty 9v batteries.  I popped a lithium in my Element pickup last string change and it is working fine.

I am wondering about using a lithium with my full Anthem pickups.  The full Anthems have a battery charge indicator.  The 9v lithium batteries have a different discharge curve than the 9v alkaline, and I am thinking the battery indicator would not be accurate.  Anyone have any experience with this?

Eastman e20 OM TC vs e20 OM MR TC
Posted by: raul - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

Hi
I just received my Eastman e20 OM TC and I have a few days to try it, 15 days.

I have mixed feelings about the guitar, I thought I'd share to see if I could get some feedback if somebody has experienced the same:

Pros:
- I think it's a beautiful sounding guitar
- The sound seems very colorful and every note seems to have character (if this makes sense)
- The neck is very confortable
- Strumming sounds very nice
- It's very well made which is very pleasing when picking it up, I feel I don't want to put it down while playing it.

Cons:
- I find that the lows are a bit too present and I need to be careful when playing. I either need to pluck the highs a little louder for them to stand out or be careful with the lows, trying not to play them too loud. ( i refer to highs, strings 1,2,3 and to lows 4,5,6)
-  If I'm playing finger style and the part of the song doesn't have any high notes it can sound a little muddled. (This may be my impression and I'm not used to the guitar yet)
- There is a 'runout' on the top of the guitar which depending on the light angle one part of the guitar looks darker than the other. This is something I'm not too happy with and I'm trying to get used to it.
- Sometimes, while playing, the 1st and 6th string slide of the neck, this is ok, I think it's just a matter of getting used to it as it's a new guitar. Already I find it hardly slides of now.

Has anybody else experience this with this guitar? I have mixed feelings about it and I really want to like it. The strings I use are
D'Addario XT 53 -12.

I'm new to the forum and I'm aware that most people here love their Eastman guitars and I see why, they are beautiful sounding guitars and a joy to pick up, but the points above are holding me back a bit.

Any feedback appreciated; I'd like to keep the guitar but I have doubts. My previous guitar is a Recording King RO 328, the lows sound a little clearer which is something I think I am not finding in the Eastman e20 TC at the moment.

Which other Eastman guitars could you recommend? Would the e20 OM MR TC sound better?
Many thanks

Has anyone had the opportunity to play the newest travel guitar, PCH2 TG? The price is tempting but I cannot find info on what it sounds like.

  NUGD - T185MX

[Image: o2V6cIS.jpg][Image: dDjt8Fq.jpg]While on vacation in Florida I found this 2010 T185MX at a Guitar Center in Orlando. All original with the Kent Armstrong pickups, original hard case and COA. Although the Armstrong pickups aren't highly regarded I doubt that I'll replace them since I don't gig anymore. It plays great and of course looks fantastic.

  NGD Eastman AC522CE "WOW"!!
Posted by: roycarver2706 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (20)

Received my new AC522CE today from Sun Valley Guitars.  There is something so inspiring when you have such a finely crafted guitar in your hands.  I know that many of you have some higher end guitars that have beautiful wood binding aesthetics but this is the first one for me.  It is such an elegant touch on guitars and I especially love the look of the Goldburst with the mahogany trim and rosette and blue purfling.
I instantly upgraded the tuners to Gotoh 510s (SGV510Z-L5) in X-Gold. They just dropped right in, easy peasy! I mostly did the upgrade for the aesthetic look and I'm definitely thrilled with the look but also get a slightly better tuning ratio (1:21).  They also feel great in my hands when tuning.
