Can someone tell me what I’m looking at here? pics.

Okay so apparently this isn’t a scarf neck joints? So what is it where the wood grain is going in two different directions. Thank you.

  Alpine or Sitka?
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (6)

I'm GASing bad for an Alpine Eastman, and came across these two E6D-TC models. As you can tell from the photos, one is much lighter in color than the other. The one that has the beautiful Bearclaw markings. So, I messaged the seller and they said they are both Sitka. I don't think that's the case and it's very possible the associate that emailed me back simply checked the listing and has no knowledge of what TC Sitka looks like vs TC Alpine. One is clearly lighter while the other is that carmel color indicative of torrified Sitka. Both listings indicate Sitka.

Another reason why I think their listing could be wrong is because the lighter color is listed as a 2020 model but it has the backstrip. The darker one is listed as a 2021 model but has no backstrip. I'm pretty sure the backstrip wasn't introduced to the E6D models until 2021. It seems they have these flip flopped.

What do you guys think?

Posted by: PeteD - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (2)

Just noticed a 2014 Eastman E6OME-LTD on FB Marketplace in Blaine KY for $540.  No affiliation and no knowledge of the condition.  Thought if anyone relatively close is interested I'd flag it for someone!

Where to go if you have problems with your guitar
Posted by: Day - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Sorry I am new on this forum and hope I am at the right place… I spotted people with a problem that looked like mine.
I have an acoustic Eastman. It is not OK… while it is new.
The shop where I bought it does not longer sell Eastman The shop owner tells me he does not know how to help.
Eastman says lifetime guarantee…
I live in the Netherlands where can I get help!
It is no small problem!
And it is not a really cheap guitar either…

Is there an importer for Europe or The Netherlands?

PLEASE PLEASE help!

  Closing Time...

I love this video: A great song, a wonderful guy, and what has to be my favorite acoustic tone I've ever heard.  I don't know exactly what it is about that sound, but I can't get enough of it.

  GHS Vintage Bronze
Posted by: Treenewt - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (14)

I put a set of GHS Vintage Bronze lights on my E8OM-TC on the 1st of December, 2021.  I have had this guitar in CGCGCD for much of that time, but have also put her in DADGAD and Standard quite often.  I keep wanting to change these strings, but every time I get it out to do so, they still sound so good I leave them on!

I'm not one of those folks who hates changing strings.  I would change every 3-4 weeks normally, but these strings are surprising me. They're still clear across all registers, and the low E and A haven't lost any of their quality of note (I notice it there before anywhere else on a set).  I want to try a set on my Larrivee to see if I like them as much on mahogany as on rosewood.  Because on this little axe, they just work!

  Schertler Lydia Active EQ
Posted by: neilca - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

I just bought a used AC320CE and found out it has a Schertler Lydia Active EQ system in it. Never heard of one of these. Are these any good? I figured the twin dials in the sound hole are tone and volume. What is the third dial on the bottom of the sound hole?

  Eastman 1 3/4 Nut?
Posted by: Charlieb - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (14)

You folks keep up with specs much more than I and I'm disappointed in sites I've looked at trying to find an Eastman I may like that has an 1 3/4" nut.

Here's kinda where I'm at. I have the E10 OM and I love it. For whatever reason (just gas probably) I'm wanting another Eastman close in size to my OM but tonally different. Not feeling anything darker sounding. Heck I don't know what I'm after ha just one close in OM size and tonally different complimenting my E10 OM. I don't want one that is basically the same tonally or I might as well just stick with the one I love oh and it's got to have a 1 3/4" nut...what's the deal with all the 1 11/16" jeeze and I definitely don't want a big D as I'm in no volume competitions here on my couch and have no plans to be in one.

I keep having "and Oh moments" lol and oh no cutaway

Any suggestions?

  Decisions & Trade-Offs
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

I've been very tempted to order the upcoming E20D-MR-TC, but decided that I need to make room before I can justify another guitar into the house, especially a Rosewood dread.  In another thread, I mentioned that I was considering selling my 2016 E40D to a friend, who's been begging me to sell it for 2-3 years.  But aside from his interest, the big reason for considering this guitar for sale is b/c I have two of this same model (and have kept both for 4+ years b/c there are differences in their sound, feel).

Today, I began to think about things differently.  There are two E40D guitars, but I play both of them more than I do my E20D or E8D.  The E20D is a cannon, but it doesn't get the attention it deserves b/c of it's bling-y siblings, and my ear has grown away from Rosewood/Sitka and in favor of Adi and Alpine.

So, why would I sell a guitar that I play (even if it has a twin), when I could sell two guitars that I play less frequently for about the same combined price?  I don't have any attachment to those two guitars and wouldn't regret selling them, if it meant bringing home the E20D-MR-TC.

I just played all four tonight (just a song or two each), and for the first time, feel like I have a plan that will work for me.
