I did watch this video a few times over the last couple of months. I like how he talks from a players perspective. Nice playing too.

Curious how they define "Old-Growth Alaskan Spruce".  Hopefully chapboogie can give us more info on when exactly to expect them and the number available?  I'm personally down for one really dumb guitar purchase this year and the question is  one of these or an Eastman MR E20.

I just placed an order for a AC222CE.  I'm really curious to see how the Eastman quality I've experienced so far carries down to the lower prices.  I've watched and listened to a few videos of this model and as much as I don't believe Youtube videos can convey the actual sound of a guitar you can still hear the amount of sustain one has which can tell a lot about how resonant the guitar is.  If this is as good as I'm hoping it could be the greatest value of any guitar I've yet owned.  I ordered it from Muddy Rivers Guitars in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City in Atchison and they gave me a pretty good deal on it.

Purchased less than a year ago, but my other Eastmans cover what I need and I'm gassing for an electric right now.
Excellent condition and added a $200 Baggs M1e which is included along with the HSC.

I was asked if I would sell the guitar without the pickup. Yes but keep in mind, it would leave a 1/2" hole were the 1/4" connector replaced the end strap pin. Cost of actual shipping would kind of determine final price. If you make an offer, pm me with a zip so I can figure out my shipping cost.

I purchased this guitar the end of August.  I love everything about it except for the size.  First dread I've ever owned and it just doesn't work for me.  I've decided I'm just a big body with a small body mind.  Like new. Only 3-5 hours played.  Very minor scratches that I can't capture with a photo. Has to be just the right light.  I'm asking $1950 (includes shipping) PP F&F.  No trades.  Thanks for looking!

I have no clue why they're so popular. Years ago, I bought a Santa Cruz strung with them, and that guitar just never really seemed to bond with me. I thought it was me, but I've been noticing over the years that it's the strings. Every time I've played a guitar with Elixers, I catch myself putting it down rather quickly. They're greasy, slippery, and even worse: They make every guitar sound the same. Everything gets chimey and it just kills the natural timbre of every acoustic guitar I've tried them on. I don't know if the ceaseless complimenting online are bought votes or actual users, but I hate them. The luthier at the store I usually go to told me last year he stopped using them. Apparently, a lot of the guitars with tuning issues he gets in for repairs were strung with Elixers. Swapping strings meant the problem was gone, apparently. I'm not a tech so no idea how correct that could be.

Yesterday, I ended up buying an AC708CE, and I bought it despite the Elixers. It's an Eastman, so I know it'll be fantastic, and the guitar felt great. But the strings... bad call, brother.

What do you lads/ladettes think?

I think I've hinted around that I might be selling my D18 in favor of another small body. What do you think a fair price would be for a a 7 month old lightly used one?  I have my thoughts but I would like to hear others opinions. They're now $2599 new.  Thanks!

Let me begin by saying I have had a lot of great acoustic guitars over the years. I currently own a superb 2009 J-45 and a fantastic 2019 D-18 standard. I have also had a few amazing Eastman acoustics as well.

However, there has been one guitar that has been quickly rising to the top and becoming my all time favorite acoustic. That is my 2021 E8D-TC Alpine that I purchased in Jan 2022.

In my initial review of the guitar I gave it a 96/100. That is obviously a near perfect score, and I don't think I have ever had a guitar that has scored that high out of the box. (My 2013 D28 standard was that good but it developed neck issues down the road)
I've got to say that six weeks later the E8D-TC Alpine has continued to exceed my expectations. Out of the box it is the most dynamic acoustic I have ever owned.

I am really at a loss of words to describe how much I love this guitar. If it tells you anything I sold my E20D-TC a couple weeks after I got the Alpine. The Alpine was just as loud but much more open and more woody right from the get go.

The tone is warm but clear, loud but responsive. It has authority to the sound along with subtle sweetness. The craftsmanship is top notch and the tonewoods are first class. Not a flaw with the guitar craftsmanship wise. If this instrument cost as much as a new Martin HD28 ($3200+) I would still believe I was getting a deal.

All in all, it's easily the best Eastman I have owned. Even better than my 2017 E10D-TC and I am a mahogany guy. It is quickly becoming my absolutely favorite guitar. It's a true gem.

Anyway, soon I will be adding an LR Baggs Anthem to it so I can use it live. This guitar deserves to be heard.

So, with all of that said I am curious, what's your all time favorite acoustic guitar?

The bridge pins in both of my new Eastmans are too small.  Is it a case of Eastman's bridge pin holes being larger than average or are the pins they supply smaller than average?  They do look like ebony however, contrary to the specs on their site saying they are plastic.
