It made it to Seattle from SW in a record amount of time.  Info sent to FedEx Friday afternoon.  Have never received anything that fast via FedEx.

It's been here a couple of hours and you're going to help me decide when I'm going to open this box that's staring at me.  Weather looks pretty consistent between here and there (I think).  What do you guys think?  Give it 4 hours?  More?

Help!

Huss and Dalton DS vs Eastman Slope
Posted by: brandonknapp - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (9)

I owned a Huss and Dalton DS (mahogany slope shoulder) for a while it was a fantastic sounding guitar, but the neck was too thin (1 11/16 with a low profile shape, think Martin with small low profile). I miss the slope shoulder sound…smooth, clear and versatile.
I am considering an Eastman Slope… how do they compare to other slopes? Collings Or Bourgeois? Similar?
Secondly I own a E10D AND E20D…. Is there a enough difference sound wise between the standard dread and slope in Eastmans line to justify owning another Eastman?

thanks for any input on this…

  Pins for AC 308
Posted by: praichel - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (6)

Recently purchased an AC 308 ltd and am thoroughly enjoying it.  Just different enough from my E10 00ss\v to keep me guessing every night which one I am going to grab.

The one little detail that I would like to upgrade on the 308 is the plastic bridge pins.  Not a fan of plastic pins on any acoustic.  I am looking for suggestions on pin material and sourcing.  Not looking to really change the tone but never had good luck using plastic pins long term.

  First Eastman update
Posted by: maxoom - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (13)

I really have fallen in love with the E1D I purchased a few weeks ago from The Acoustic Shoppe, my first Eastman. I got really lucky because this one just sounds amazing. I had to chase the truss adjustment a little bit for a week but have it dialed in just right. I also had to get used to the wider spacing but find I can do so much more with it and prefer it to the narrower 1.67 spacing of my Takemine. I now can actually get my finders in there and pick. My only complaint is the pick guard being so sharp on the edges, if feels bad and looks bad, a few seconds with a fine micro mesh would have fixed that before installing.  I`m looking to purchase a E1OM since I don`t have a shorter scale and my other guitars are all dreads just having trouble deciding on the natural finish or the classic finish.

New to the Forum but not to Eastman Guitars
Posted by: Jeff_G - Forum: Introductions and EGF Annoucements - Replies (3)

I just found this forum yesterday and can't wait to dive in and celebrate these wonderful instruments.

My first Eastman was a T64v in summer 2019. I'd been looking for a 330-style guitar and was blown away by the T64v. Here she is:

I had been so impressed by the quality of the Eastmans I'd played that when I was looking for a solidbody about a year later, I ended up with a SB59/v. It's been my main guitar ever since.

  Sources for Cuban Tres?
Posted by: TTiimm - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (3)

Can anyone point to sources for a Cuban Tres guitar other than the one's below?

I'm aware of the Pacho Elite but the reviews are poor.

I'm also aware of the Cuban and Puerto Rican Tres guitars available from Lord of the Strings out of Beacon, NY.  Their work is nice but $1500+ is a bit more than I'd like to spend. https://reverb.com/item/36020200-tres-tony-velez-2018-natural

The Tres from Barreto Music in Miami is interesting. $449 + shipping and comes with Fishman electronics. https://barretomusiccompany.com/music-store.html

Is there something else I should be looking at?

Not adverse to doing a conversion but I'd prefer to buy new and appreciate any leads or tips.

Thanks.

  Inexpensive Microphone?
Posted by: vashondan - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (8)

I want to record myself for learning purposes and have used the camera on my iPhone but it doesn't give the best results sound wise (either that or I really stink).  Any suggestions for a inexpensive mic or app to use for recording?

  Would This Bother You?

I very much want to try a E10OM-TC. Of course there are zero to be found locally (San Diego area). This one is the closest to me I could find. https://reverb.com/item/40671384-eastman...ermo-cured

I've heard good things about Sun Valley Guitars. Plus I try to avoid long distance shipping as much as possible.

But, that top. I don't think that's an artifact of the photo. Weird kinda wormy grain on the lower bout. Part of me thinks it's cool looking.

Interesting that Eastman didn't consider it a second.

What do you guys think?

  E10P-SB and E20P Available
Posted by: TTiimm - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (2)

The Eastman parlor guitars are difficult to find so I thought I'd post this.

I have no experience buying from Atlanta based Righteous Guitars and don't know anything about their customer service but they are the real deal in terms of brands, gear and tech. They actually own a PLEK machine.

Anyway, I hope someone buys these so I won't be tempted any longer.

  Replacement tuners for a T146smd
Posted by: mad dog - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

It's from 2006 I think. Tuners hold tune fine, but there's too much slop in the G tuner. Wondering if there are any drop in replacements as an upgrade. I do not wish to drill holes ...

Thanks!
