Nitro finish change?
Posted by: TerryD - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

I saw a comment in a forum, could have been this one, that Eastman recently changed the type of finish they're using on guitars they've used nitro cellulose on in the past.  Anyone know if this is the case?

Just noticed that I haven‘t seen a sunburst TC version? Is there really none? Why is that?

Few weeks ago I bought my first ever Eastman E10OM but there was a manufacturer defect. The finish was messed up on the back side. So I contacted the dealer and Eastman sent me a new one! Super cool. But because of supply chain and everything. It took a minute. But anyway here it is! My brand new E10OM that I’m actually keeping!

  Eastman E10OM w/ LR Baggs Anthem Tru-Mic
Posted by: UncleJesse - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (6)

For sale is an Eastman E10OM with professionally installed LR Baggs Anthem Dual-Source Tru-Mic System ($299 plus installation). This would make a great gigging instrument. It sports a nice bearclaw Adirondack top and some fantastic solid mahogany figuring on the back. Condition is excellent with only small handling marks and a few tiny impressions in the finish that are impossible to photograph. Action is 5/64 on low E and 4/64 on high E. Comes with original hardshell case. $SOLD shipped and insured buyer pays any fees if necessary.

Would also love to make a trade for an Eastman 00, SS, Dread or electric.

  Truss Rod Adjustment on Eastmans
Posted by: TerryD - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Still loving my three new Eastmans and have noticed something I've never experienced with any other guitar.  It's the lack of tension required in the truss rod to straighten the neck.  In fact I actually have a little reverse tension in the truss rod to create a little relief in the neck of the E20D.  Anyone else finding this to be the case?

  E8D for sale

For Sale: 2019 Eastman E8D guitar w/ K&K Pure Mini pickup installed, $900 for Forum members, plus whatever the actual cost of shipping might be (probably via UPS) unless you're close enough to Cincinnati for us to meet up somewhere.

Specifications (from the website):Neck Material: Mahogany  | Fingerboard: Ebony  |  Fingerboard Radius:12"  |  Neck Profile: Traditional Even "C"   |   Nut: Bone 1 3/4"   |   Fretwire: 20 Jescar-FW43080   |   Scale Length: 25.4   | Bracings: Hand-Carved Scalloped X  |   Body Top: Solid Sitka Spruce   | Body Back/Sides: Solid Rosewood  | Bridge/Saddle: Ebony/Bone, 2-5/32" Spacing   |   Rosette: Classic  |  Truss Rod: Dual Acting  |   Binding: Top/Back  |   Binding Material: Herringbone   |   Logo: Pearl   | Headstock  Inlay: Abalone Snowflakes  | Bridge Pins: Ebony   |   Body Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose   |   Neck Finish: Satin Nitrocellulose   |   Hardware Color: Nickel   |   Pickguard: Tortoise Shell   |   Tuners: Open-Gear Ping V93N 3+3   | Case: Hardshell Case

This is a fine-sounding and loud dreadnought, with a lush bottom end and powerful projection. The guitar also has a K&K Pure Mini pickup professionally installed—that’s an extra $100 value right there— and it sounds great either plugged in or unplugged. The guitar’s in excellent shape: it’s been played in gigging situations, but for the last few years has spent most of its time in its (humidified) case. The E8D has been my office guitar for working out songs, but I’m looking to move this one on to someone who’ll give it the playing attention it wants and needs. There are a few cosmetic dings on the top, but they’re too small to easily photograph. Extra swag in the case: Eastman’s Certificate of Authenticity; the checklist from The Acoustic Shoppe (where I purchased the guitar which is also the shop that installed the K&K); truss rod adjustment hex; another small hex tool that somehow made it into the case, even though I don't remember why; a Keyser capo; an Intellipoint tuner; a Prolix PET-1 humidifier; and couple random picks. The strings on it are D’Addario XS Lights, which are honestly rather old at this point; I’ll toss in a pack of D’Addario EJ16s to see if you like those (they’re what Eastman sent it out with in the first place).

PM me if you're interested!

  Alvarez FYM60HD For Sale
Posted by: TerryD - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - No Replies

I've had this guitar for about a year and a half and I'm thinning the herd. It's in near mint condition but it has the slightest ding in the finish just to the right of the neck on the top upper bout that is too small to show in a photograph. You can only see it if the light is just right. This is a very special guitar made in Alvarez's master luthier shop in Japan from naturally aged fifty year old Mahogany back and sides and Adirondack spruce top. I take meticulous care of my guitars, always casing them and properly humidifying them. It's in better shape than most guitars that have been hanging on guitar shop walls, being sold as brand new. I have this listed on other sale sites for 2200.00 with free shipping to account for selling fees. I will negotiate price for anyone interested here.

Hi there!  I've been registered here for a while but I had totally forgotten about this place.  Perhaps some of you recognize the name from elsewhere on the internets.

I stumbled across my E2OM-CD a few years ago while on a lunch break.  Within a couple of minutes I knew I wasn't going back to work without it.

I've put a lot of miles on it (literally took it up and down the east coast last summer).

Lately I've been on a James Taylor kick and the Eastman is the one I reach for.

Anyway, nice to be here.  Going to dive into some threads now.
