I just bought an E1D on EBay for 415 and free shipping. Same seller now says 390. It says “last one” but that’s what it said when I bought mine Excited to get my first Eastman!

E6OM-LTD Guitars w/ Alpine Spruce Tops
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (11)

Some of you may have read in another thread, but just in case, I thought I'd share that a handful of E6OM-LTD guitars (Mark H. at Eastman says 25-30 total) were made with Alpine Spruce, instead of the standard Sitka Spruce tops.  Apparently, this was due to some supply chain issues, but it's not the first time Eastman has subbed an "upgraded" wood onto guitars before.  Another EGF member got Adi on their E6 last year... nice, free upgrade, as long as you weren't certain you wanted Sitka, LOL.

Anyway, I don't know where these guitars are located, but I heard that The Acoustic Shoppe has one for sale.  So, if you want something fairly unique, give our friend, Chapboogie, a call b/c this one will likely sell quickly.

If anyone hears of more Alpine Spruce Eastman guitars, post the details here.  I'd love to get my hands on one to see if I can tell the difference (in looks or sound) vs. the Sitka versions.

Chapboogie, if you read this, please post a link to your guitar.

  E3D / E3OM

Eastman's website added these two models (no MSRP price).  Sitka over Ovangkol, so they're expanding their models with that body wood configuration.  Both models come with the gig bag (similar to the AC version).

NGD: Furch Blue Series GC-CM Plus
Posted by: Prahanien - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (5)

So I was looking for a nice cedar top. Found this...so far I love it but who doesn’t love the guitar the first day you buy it. Fit and finish are brilliant. Tone is great. Dark (which I love) but warm. The playability and feel in my hands is what I am most impressed with. It feels wonderful. Also. It has the lr baggs stage pro barn door on the top side which I usually hate. However, I plugged it into a Loudbox Mini. Wow Wow Wow. Totally love it and it has the built in tuner. Me thinks I’ll keep this one Smile

On a side note. Anyone know which JP armrest fits a GA body style well?

  NGD E10OM-LTD: Christmas Surprise, Pt.2
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (10)

Two years ago, I surprised my daughter with an E1OO-LTD.  Although she's gotten into new hobbies, she still plays regularly, and the guitar has evolved nicely.  But she's been taking to my OM guitars, calling the body size "perfect" for her.  Earlier this year, I nearly purchased this same guitar, when Gary (NoiseFloor) looked like he might pass on it.  So, when he decided to place it up for sale, I jumped at the second chance.  The thing is that I just purchased a new E10OM, so I decided that this would provide a chance for another surprise and upgrade her guitar to an OM.

Gary covered a lot of ground with his NGD thread: here.

But I'll try to add onto it, where it makes sense.

First, let's talk aesthetics.  Despite this guitar getting passed from TX to OH to CA, this guitar and the case are in mint condition.  The top is mid/wide grain across the lower bout, narrowing at each end and in the center, with some nice color coming on.  The grain leans a little more brown than red, but mostly straight.  The body is gorgeous Mahogany with red-brown stain and tortoise binding.

The headstock is beautiful, reflecting with Ebony on the front and flamed Mahogany on the back.  The board is Ebony with tasteful inlays, and I may give the frets and board a cleaning on the next string change, as the board looks just a little dry.  Overall, the build quality is outstanding, and I can't find a single flaw with the guitar build.

As Gary mentions in his thread, the neck is very comfortable and generally on par with my other OM guitars.  However, for some reason, this neck feels more hand-carved than the others.  The section where the neck meets the headstock is just a little more pronounced, and you can feel that it was done by hand, not a machine.

As for the sound, this guitar is a powerhouse.  The sound is full, loud, and actually has some nice low end growl without the dread low end boom.  Amazing clarity across all the strings, and held its own, when I moved up the frets.

It really comes alive after 10 minutes of playing, and tonight, I A/B'd it against my fairly new E10OM.  While both are quite responsive, the LTD has a little more volume and snarl to it, which make it so enjoyable to play.  My standard E10OM still has some newness to it, although I often forget that it's an Adi top and not Sitka.

Final two points: (1.) Gary (NoiseFloor) was absolutely amazing as a seller.  The guitar was packed and shipped perfectly, and we both anxiously tracked its progress across the country until it arrived safely.  And (2.) I did some research on these E10OM-LTD models.  There were only 70 made between 2012-2018, and it's possible that this was the last one shipped by Eastman, which makes this guitar and even cooler keepsake for my daughter.

PS - the reason this post is coming so late is b/c my kids and I were sheltering from COVID for the last five weeks, so we had to postpone Christmas until we could be reunited with my wife (she's an ER nurse, and I have health issues, so we physically separated when things got worse around here).  We got back last Sunday and opened presents, when we got back home.

Ok, time for the obligatory NGD photos.

In Search of OM, E8OM-TC might be it???
Posted by: goodry - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (25)

If this were a support group, I would say - My name is Ryan, and I suffer from Analysis Paralysis.

Ok, we got that out of the way haha.

I have found my holy grail (so far) Dreadnaught in the E20D-TC. I put newtone masterclass phosphor bronze's on it and that guitar is easily my favorite guitar.

I have guitars of all shapes and sizes but no OM's - I've just started delving into fingerstyle and I tend to have smaller hands so an OM is definitely in my wheelhouse.

So far, the OM that I have been been stuck on is the Santa Cruz Guitar Company OM\PW. Listening to it and all the reviews, both professionally (guitar.com, chorder, etc etc) and owners reporting back on various sites have all been very favorable. I've also looked at both a lawson brothers and there is a guy in NC that I could commission a torrefied adi\madagascar OM, pre-war braced, for around $3k.

But, That is $3k.

I would really like to hear the opinions of anybody who has played or has knowledge of the E8OM-TC. I have the e20d-tc, and the E10D-TC, had the e8d.... all of those guitars were really really great guitars, so when I saw that they make a torrefied sitka\rosewood, for $1250 ... I was very very intrigued. I might be able to save a couple grand.

Anybody have \ played the E8OM-TC ? And of those who have, have any of you also played the SCGC OM\PW ?

What are your general opinions of the of the eastman? I feel like this might be a very good option. I might still have the other one commissioned but that guy isn't going anywhere, so I can save up money - He has a 5 month lead time anyways. For those interested, Look up Crowder guitars. He is a small builder specializing in pre-war style guitars for REALLY affordable prices.

Thank you for reading my lengthy post and I appreciate any responses!

Looking to sell or trade for T184MX or possibly T185MX. I play mostly sitting down and this is just a bit too big for me. Guitar is stock except for the magnum gotoh locking tuners I put on.
