$899 -- AC422ce in excellent condition at Guitar Center

That $899 price seems extremely low; Guitar Center usually lists a used AC422ce in "excellent" condition for about $200 to $300 more than that.

If anybody's interested in it, you may want to call the store and have a sales person look it over to verify that it really is in excellent condition.

I have one already.  I like that it has the longer scale length like a dread.  The om models are a little uncomfortable for me because of their shorter scale length.

Why do we never hear of torrefied Cedar? It must surely be possible to torrefy it? I wonder has as it ever been properly tried?

  Ac122 - cedar?
Posted by: hardycreek1 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Has anyone played one of these? I once had one of the first year AC122's with layered back & sides & it sounded phenomenal. I traded it in for an E10-SS which is also phenomenal.

I'm thinking of picking up another less expensive guitar for banging around & might go back to the AC122, and saw they had one with a cedar top.

WOW! Sounds awesome! Is it?

  NGD: Eastman AC612

First time posting here. I recently purchased this AC612. Mainly for fingerstyle.

Eastman support told me it went through their shop in 2009. Highly flamed solid maple back and sides, Engelmann spruce top

Does anyone else have one of these or know more about this model?

Thanks!

Greatly interested in string recommendations other than the stock D'Addario EXTs for this guitar. Thank you in advance!

NNGD? Not-A-New-Guitar-Day, and not an Eastman, either.. This is a McNeela bouzouki from McNeela Music in Dublin, Ireland. I said I had a hankering to try playing an octave mandolin, which is (essentially) a bouzouki. It's tuned as an Irish bouzouki usually is GG-DD-AA-DD. I would have preferred an Eastman MDO605, but even an MDO305 isn't in the budget for something I'm trying on a mad whim. The McNeela bouzouki, even coming from Dublin, was less expensive than any of the Eastman octave mandos, with a solid spruce top and rosewood laminate back and sides. Though it's not a professional level instrument, it's certainly playable and will allow me to learn bouzouki/octave mando. if I get good enough down the road and finances allow, I'll look to the Eastman offerings for a better instrument.

In the meantime, I'm learning chords and starting to get familiar with a much narrower neck...   Big Grin

Anyone know the duty on Eastman guitars from the US to Canada?
Posted by: davrog - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (5)

I'm looking for an E8om-TC Alpine top, which are impossible to find in Canada. There's one available at an American dealer, but I can't find out how much the duty would be from the government sites here in Canada. Any Canadian members know? Thanks for any help.

Compacq - I  read your recent post where you said you owned five Martin guitars. If you are willing to share your views on them I for one would be interested in what you have to say.
