I have a T486 purchased about 3 months ago.  I have 2 Gibson Les Pauls that I love, but my new favorite is this Eastman. It is amazing!

Everything has been great with this instrument until last week when the bridge volume pot started crackling when turning. I tried some contact cleaner spray in the pot, but to no avail.  I had some good quality 500k pots, so I thought I’d just try to replace it.  I put thread/ strings on all the pots and proceeded to try to remove the harness.  I immediately ran into a major issue. I couldn’t remove the first pot through the f hole.  I tried everything that I thought was reasonable without trying to force it and damaging the finish.

my question to the group is:  has any one replaced the pots and is there something obvious that I’m doing wrong?  

I thought I might try removing the bridge pickup to see if that’s the way the wiring was installed.  Can any confirm that this might work?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This is one I just picked up from goodwill (has yet to be delivered), but I have some questions.
it's an H929, but it's different from al lthe others I've ever seen.

It looks like it's been stripped of all it's paint. It's all solid birch consruction, but usually the neck is painted black. This one appears to have had everything removed.  The bridge is unlike any I've seen on a Stella (except on their 12 strings), and the pickguard is either from the 20's or early 60's from what I can tell.  

If anybody can help identify this, I'd appreciate it:

And yes, I have small hands, but can play any neck with no problems!! Our friends at the Acoustic Shoppe have two E6SS-TC Eastman's now listed. The nut measurement on one is a little over 1.71 inches and the other is 1.74 plus!!!!! The tops are Sitka and rest is Mahogany. I bet they sound darned nice! Be nice to see the guys here land these two machines. They are not listed sequentially, so you'll have to wade through the listings. Ons is being used to make recordings, but will be available tomorrow.

My AC was made in 3/21.  What finish does it have?   Can’t tell from what I’ve seen. Thanks!
