Eastman Adirondack?
Posted by: August West - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

I’ve searched through the threads and have seen some good discussions but hoping I can catch a better insight.

Is the Adirondack that Eastman uses comparable in quality to brands like Martin, Gibson level and up? Understanding that with so much variance in wood its difficult to gauge but we tend to make some generalities so that’s fine in this case.

Do you feel ThermoCure is a benefit for Adirondack specifically? Does it even make a difference? I’m hoping someone with experience with both in Eastman guitars chimes in!!!

While I’m here. I think it would makes sense if Eastman used TC Adirondack on their 10ss/v series. Make it sound older and dryer as well as look it. But what do I know?

  T59 buying advice
Posted by: Motu - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (2)

Hello
I'm thinking of buying a used T59, but I'm a little unsure about the ebony fingerboard, which has some discoloration. it's probably not something that affects the playability, but maybe the resale value.
Could it have been bought as a B-stock?

  E10SS/v or E10OOss/v owners?
Posted by: SasquatchLife - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (9)

Anyone on here have one of these models? Or both? What do you think? I've been eyeing both for awhile now and can't make a decision. I currently have an E2D and E8OM-TC, so I'm leaning more towards the 00 model to add more body shape versatility. I mainly play fingerstyle with light to moderate strumming.

Thanks

curious string bending phenomenon, 24.9" scale
Posted by: dmoss74 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

hi,

i have (and have had) a couple eastman om (000) guitars with the 24.9" scale length.

i also now have an e10ss-tc, with the same scale length.

one head-scratcher is that the ease of bending strings is much more prevalent on the OM guitars, vs the slope shoulder. I don't know if that is attributable to the thicker neck on the SS (possibly), but it is puzzling.

Maybe the nut slots are cut wider on the OMs? I don't know.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is this just my particular E10SS? All the guitars use the same brand and gauge strings as well.

thanks

  Older “AC” series thoughts?
Posted by: August West - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

I’m interested in a larger guitar. Open to either a full scale dreadnaught or jumbo. Ideally a Adirondack top over mahogany back and sides. I’m looking at used Eastman guitars and specifically those built before the switch from nitrocellulose. I have noticed a number of well priced AC models fitting my criteria. Does anyone have any experience, suggestions or such that might help me concerning older AC guitars?

Another question, is there an Eastman series called “2010’s” and or “2020’s”? I see many used Eastmans on reverb with those designations in the description and from what I can tell when I can see the serial # it appears to be a more recent build. Confusing.

Thanks! ?

  Bridge pins
Posted by: ztevie - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Hi!
New here, just pulled the trigger on a AC422.
Went through the specs and was surprised by one thing.
Seems like the 322 and 422 has plastic bridge pins while 122, 222 and all the models above 422 has ebony? I would assume ebony is an upgrade over plastic so why the inconsistency for the AC series?

  First attempt at studio recording
Posted by: Meathead - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (8)

Hey all - following on this thread here (https://www.eastmanguitarfans.com/Thread...preference) - thought I'd share my first attempt at acoustic guitar recording with Logic Pro.

This is a cover of a song called Hymn of Heaven. I recorded it using a portacapture X6 (https://tascam.com/us/product/portacapture_x6/top) straight into Logic Pro on my macbook. Added some compression, eq and reverb. I'm using my Breedlove acoustic for this one.

For my first time I think it turned out ok - but still learning. Appreciate any feedback on the mix from anyone more experienced! Thanks for listening

  recordings now, and then

hi,

has anyone recorded their eastmans when new, vs an elapsed time frame of more than a year or so. maybe even more of a time distance?

i'm curious if anyone has documented how their guitar's tone "opened up" over time.

  Acoustic Amp
Posted by: Tone1 - Forum: General Chatter - No Replies

Hi, I am looking to purchase a NuX Stageman amp that comes with a 2 button foot switch. There are 2  foot switch inputs on the back of the amp, one for looper and the other for effects. If I bought another 2 button foot switch could I connect them both and control both the looper and the effects? I cannot ask NuX as they do not provide any email address on their Amp Support site.
